What time did you get in? I didn't get to the camping area until after 2 (despite arriving at 11.30am) due to ridiculous queues and searches etc. I think only me and Clairey out of the group on the camp GT list had made it into the camping area at that point. But the area above Vapor was already filling up so fast at that point that there was only space for about six small tents and no gazebo. So we went a few metres further along, directly above the Glade Main Stage. The flagpole was the first thing up and lots of people found us by that.

Sorry we didn't see you m8y. :(

Totally agree. It's an English festival and we all know that summer is a loose term in England. You go prepared and make the most of the situation. Obviously it would have been nice to sit down, but we've been spoilt the last few years with the weather and we were a lot better off there than a lot of other people around the country. Thought the atmosphere was really friendly and had a great time. Love the Glade as ever!

I'm gonna buck the trend and say Glade might as well have not happened for me. The only decent thing for me was catching up with mates I hadn't seen for too long and coming to the GT meet on the thursday night. Too many other shit things happened for me to enjoy it. Sorry.

Going to the Glade has given me a much needed boost, I haven't been to a festival in a few years because of life. Mud does not matter!

this was my third glade, and definitely the funniest yet.. i did miss sitting around in grass, but soon got used to sitting in mud instead. and the lack of sun meant much more daytime dancing and bizarre missions..

i'd like a sunny one next year, but i'm proud to be among the people that battered devasting floods and menace, to stomp about and get away from the rest of the world. it was a festival of endurance and trench digging, river channelling, survival skills, rationing, and the ongoing battle to find a loo not heaped so high with turds it was in danger of collapsing.

herds of insane, randy, flatulent wildebeast wouldn't keep me away when it's glade time - and if the worst storms in however many years can't stop us having fun, nothing can..

massive flapping thanks to the organisers for not shutting down.

and my deepest sympathy to whoever has to attempt to clean up the site..

next stop - waveform?

Wicked wicked wicked Glade!!!

Amazing atmosphere, people and possibly some of the best music I have heard live ever!! :-)

The true and typical British attitude we are all here to have a great time and not going to let some rain and mud spoil it for us!! Im just finding it hard that it is all over

Bring on 2008!!!
Glade 2008 Ill be there!!

Had an amazing time despite everything... such a good atmosphere, especially at the Origin stage Saturday night in the mud and the rain. The festival was so much better organised than the last couple of years, and the organisers did an amazing job despite being in the middle of what can only be called a disaster zone!

yes it was just the car park situation that affected my festival, but also there were a fair few people who seemed incabable of coping with the mud haha.

origin stage was awsome had loads of fun, and even met two israelly people who we camped with last year, was an amazing festival and definately coming back next year, but please glade consider the car park, although the needless destruction of it was rather fun the finish off the weekend. I do feel for the people whos tents got ruined and stuff, but thats wat u get wen u camp at the bottom of a hill and the wheather says its going to rain, its not like the news didnt tell us that. Looking back, bring the mud for 08 haha.

Back to Basics

Postby Ya_Concha on 24 Jul 2007, 11:29

What can I say, as a retired festival goer, a local resident and a Glade newbie - what a feckin weekend! Not since my earliest Glasto's or Elephant Fayres have I met such crackin people.... Blitz spirit & not givin a toss about the weather was the ticket

Lost count of how many people ready for a chat, share a rizla or even give me a big grin.

Really really nice to see something without frickin radio 1 or someother muthafeckin corporate shitehawks getting their claws into it.......

Defo Something special goin on here, hope to damn it dont change as me an mine will be there with bells on next year

Big love n shouts to all who braved the mud & gave it some XXXXXX

Special thanks to naked bronze man, captain america and the lady in red (sort of a beekeeper come Raiden thing going on)
