I'm just gutted I didn't want to venture out more, but mud and Sid made up my mind for me.

I'm mostly gutted it's over :(

The liquid tent seemed to live up to its name literally and the area around there was stupidly trecharous, especially at 4am in the morning when everyone is a bit spangled, its like robots in slow motion going through that bit.

The rain Saturday morning definitely made it possible to move around again, it would've actually been worse had it not happened!

Exulus wrote:Sound levels were fantastic as usual, i dont understand peoples gripes with them...maybe my ears are supersensitive or just not fucked enough yet ;) I do think Overkill should be bigger though, we never went in the techno tent but really wanted to gabba the night away but couldnt because the place was so rammed.

Big thumbs up for the Funktion 1 rigs this year... sounded amazing!

Being my 1st Glade I cant compare it to much also being that I never really ventured out my tent much part from to go round all the lovely stalls!! But in saying that I had an amazing time, ive never in all my life never been in a such a concentrated area of fricking absoloulty lovely people and I dont care if it was just the drugs if was amazing. Especially considering the weather.
I cant wait back to go back next year and the next and the next and the next.......

I also think I broke the record of sleeping the longest amount of time at a festival. I fell asleep about 1am on the sat night/sun morning to be woken up about tea time on Sunday to just kinda grunt at people then go back to sleep till 9am on the monday morning when I had to pack all my stuff together then slept all the way back on the bus from glade to Glasgow then when I got back to my boyfriends flat I fell asleep again and didnt wake up till 12pm on Tuesday. And I'm still tired!!

I was extremely impressed with the organisers keeping the festival going. So many factors could have ruined the festival yet all was kept at bay and a great festival continued.

Was a little frustrated by security confiscating my grinder (fair enough) and my flair bottle (?!) but all in all they seemed a reasonable friendly bunch.

I have to confess some of my best moments occured in the car park during, and after the festival. I didn't risk smuggling in my laughing gas so sat in the car park making friends and inhaling on the friday while waiting for my mum to drop me off a tent *without* snapped poles. She didn't quite make it (queued for 3hrs to be trned away!) although that was understandable.

I do however have a couple of complaints involving the car park on the monday: There seemed to be no coordinators as to what was going on. The queue for the tractor was ridiculous.. people would get to the front, to have th tractor attmpt to pull out a car that was stuck between lines of others. Rather inefficient way of doing things. if people sat in the cars and the tractor came to them the cars could be pulled out in an order which left the way clear for others from the back of the field. Eventually I decided that it was a silly situation and between all the man power available we could push cars out through the mud. After rallying together a team we achieved at getting about 8 through the new exit at the back of the field then with a little push I rally drove my volvo to the way out. Teamwork! Made a perfect friendly end to a perfect friendly festival. Thank you. If a car park coordinator job is available for next year I now have great experience.

A perfect example

Postby Jaguar on 25 Jul 2007, 09:47

Dear Lovely People

I just wanted to add my tuppence worth of what I thought of glade 2007; I have some experience in these matters in that I have been partying since the 70's! :) I have seen all sorts of music festivals all over the world and this was my third Glade, I have to say this: THE BRITISH ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ROCK!!!! What people in this country create together when they gather to party is quite simply STUNNING!

Glade 2007 was a perfect example of this.

Disabled Help

Postby photonmike on 25 Jul 2007, 12:46

I know that this probably won't apply to a lot of folk but I'd just like to thank the lady who managed the disabled facilities - i had a friend staying n the disabled area and she was a star, sorting out access and lifts.
:P

Had a really great festy this year despite the mud!

We could hear the Origin stage from 6 miles away at a petrol station on the Sunday, whilst waiting for the RAC to check the car over.

It sounded f**king mint.

Totally agree, however - for some strange reason most of the people I spoke to during the festival had come to the festival from abroad. Maybe it's just PEOPLE who know how to party>

This was my first Glade and despite the weather, I think it rocked. The atmosphere on arrival was amazing. We pitched up our tent early friday morning next to a legendary bunch from Dublin. They let us chill under their gazebo while we struggled with our 6 man tent in the dark and wet (we'd decided to get completely spangled before putting it up). The madness continued and when the sun finally came out on Friday afternoon, the atmosphere was spectacular. My only regret was sitting in my tent for too long waiting for the rain to die down and not getting out more. We were camped up near the red & white tent (think it was the Origin?). I seem to remember them playing 80's tunes on sunday morning (unless i dreamt this). Quite refreshing waking up to Fleetwood Mac!

Bring on Glade 2008!

this was better than last year. even just from the point of view that all the people out in the mud raving were brilliant, aslthough some people left eary many of us stayed in the carnage and rewarded the promoters, organisers, and artists battling throuhgh the mud by fuckin AVING IT even when sound levels and technical problems were down. and i got to have a mud wrestle which ive wanted to do for years!!
