Yeah, i feel i ought to state that soil is incredibly heterogenous and soil maps take no account of compaction, soil biology, and management practices and blah blah blah... so if it does happen to be muddy i hope no one just takes trainers coz of this analysis. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best! :)

I don't want to feel any hate coming my way after glad coz people were stuck with just trainers ;)

Old trainsers with plastic bags around them if it gets really bad, dont mind it they get muddy as I will most probably throw them away after Glade.... I will also take loads of socks to change when necessary

if you're taking trainers take leather ones, kept my feet dry at Wild In The Country at Knebworth a few weeks ago and the surface mud and rain there was horrid.
Cheers

Slypsy, I really hope you're right about this! I have two dodgy knees, one without a cruiciate ligament at the mo and I more worried about falling over and doing myself a mischief than getting wet.

Plus major props on the geekiness of your post, nothing wrong with using yr skills to inform the masses!

I love geeks and this post is genius and fantastic and made me feel quite cheerfull. Basically even if it does rain it won't be glasto style mud (i'm still picking flakes off half my stuff, even after a good going over in the washing machiney)

Don't forget Slypsy had a bit of small print to cover himself: "Yeah, i feel i ought to state that soil is incredibly heterogenous and soil maps take no account of compaction, soil biology, and management practices and blah blah blah... so if it does happen to be muddy i hope no one just takes trainers coz of this analysis. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best!"

To be fair, the Metcheck and BBC weather forecasts at the time he wrote that were for "light rain" and "light showers". At that point, it wasn't known for certain that two months' worth of rain would be unleashed in the space of 12 hours over the Newbury area.
