Glade organisers read this please: Loos & showers

Postby alilecky on 11 Aug 2007, 13:59

Will this email be read by the Glade organisers? I hope so as I want them to do something about cleaning the loos more often; twice a day I reckon. They were so disgusting I couldn't use them as I would be sitting on top of shit because they were full to the top. I think dug out toilets are better for so many people. Without going into too much detail, I was unable to go all weekend but I couldn't stop thinking about how much I wanted to so it interfered with my enjoyment. PLEASE SORT IT OUT!

I can mange without a shower, and I did, but the lack of showers is ridiculous. I know at certain times during the month I, as most women, would have a real need for showering.

I just want to enjoy the festival not concern myself about these basic needs.

It stands a better chance if it's in our Glade feedback forum, where this is going... ;)

Welcome aboard anyway. :wackyhat:

Was this year your first time by the way? Last year, the toilets were kept exceptionally clean by festival standards. This year, it definitely slipped but that was probably because of all the problems getting the shit trucks on and off site.

To be fair, I didn't think the loos were that bad...the ones by where we were camping were cleaned out at least twice a day....and by festival standared, I though they were pretty ok...restocked with loo roll and alcohol gel twice a day too...

It would have been nice to have showers though...I had one every day at sunrise, and it made a real difference to feel all nice and clean, especially as it was v hot. Can you imagine what state the showers would have been in at Glade with all that mud....yuk!

I thought the loos were ok-ish this year all things considered (although finding one early on the thursday, pre-mud that had 3 broken condoms on the seat and a load of white goop all over the walls was an interesting start...), and I don't get the thing about the showers - there WERE showers, half our camp had a shower on both the Friday and the Saturday - they were behind the info tent and were only 1.50, noone had to queue for longer than about 15mins. They closed them from time to time as the mud was clogging the drains, but they were normally re-opened within an hour.

to be fair though the shit truck was sturglling to get around the site...i think the toilets were ok considering the circumstances. there was only a few where it was a bit much and they were on monday. and sometims they had free hand wash and loo roll, what a miracle! TBH id rather suffer with a smelly loo than have a shit truck get stuck in the mud near my tent...

That's drinking water you're wasting! Not only that but your runoff water was pouring down the hill under 400 people's tents.

At least fill up a bottle and go and wash away from the tap.

Ta!
