Man on acid.

Postby ezydriver on 10 Sep 2007, 14:05

Hello all. This is my first post. Glade 2007 was also my first glade.
Does anybody remember a man who was totally wasted on acid diving in the mud, being helped up, collapsing, then running frantically and screaming "Why?", then marching after people and then diving in the mud again? It was on Saturday I think. I often wondered what happened to him.

Anyway, I'm definitely going again next year but something tells me it won't be at Aldermaston again.

Does anybody know of any details for Glade 2008? Is there even going to be a Glade 2008?

The organisers have said that they intend to put on Glade 2008 and they hope to hold it at the wassing estate once again. The landowner and estate manager are apprently very supportive of glade and grassland takes no time at all to recover, I live near the site for womad this year, the mud their was deeper then glade and it had more people, in large areas thje grass has already totaly recovered from what was 3ft deep mud.

Check the organisers response to glade 07 in the feedback forum for more info.

It's true that the organisers favour Wasing and that they have a good relationship with the landowner - but they were going to check out feedback from the locality in the light of all the licensing hassles this year. Check out this post: post63942.html#p63942

Well, it turns out that the feedback from locals has been very good (and this tallies with what 'our' locals on the board have been saying). This is what the organisers have told me (and this is another GladTalk exclusive):

Elvis wrote:Yeah the feedback has been good - one thing that was really appreciated was that we sent the Glade
firetruck into Aldermaston to pump the water out of people's flooded houses and used our spare generators
to give people emergency power for heat and lighting.

So the odds of the Glade returning to Wasing for 2008 are looking quite favourable.

By the way, ezydriver, you didn't see anyone on acid at Glade, it was a performance artist. Nobody takes illegal substances at the Glade.

Yeah, Teh Admin is right. You couldn't move for performance artists at Glade.
