Yeah, although it's not really my cup o' tea (I do quite like the Hacker tho), it's still infinitely preferable to a tent that plays NOTHING ELSE EXCEPT BREAKS. Christ, what a nightmare scene that is - when is it going to fall apart and die? I'd rather have a 70s disco tent than a bloody breaks tent. Or a tent with Chris De Burgh on repeat.

 sorry, but they do run some fucking jokes nights. the music may be a pile of wank, but its danceable, and the atmosphere at the events is great, not to mention the free tea and snack bar!!

and as for the breaks hating!!!! ive never been so outraged in my life, breaks is where its at in terms of mid tempo dance music and i wont have anyone say otherwise :cop:

electroclash was made up by the press. i've never heard anyone actually say electroclash. and whatever it is, vitalic, hacker and blackstrobe arent it. all 3 would go down really well in the main room.

I saw Black Strobe at TDK a couple of years back... he was pretty rubbish to be honest. And he didn't even play Abwehr Disco, which to my mind is his only decent tune. I wrote "ABWEHR DISCO ?" with an emphasised question mark on a bit of paper and managed to hand it to him as he was playing, but he just looked at me and shook his head and threw the note away. Moody goth bastard!

i honestly cant see why the need two psy-trance tents/stages when its the most samey, repetative music at the entier festival.
im not a fan of acid techno or hardtek etc, (no 4/4 kicks over 140bpm for me thank you very much!) but would love to see more coverage of the detroit/minimal side of things, and stuff at the vitalic, laurent garnier, french/german end of the spectrum.

Agreed, techno tent definitely needed. But I disagree with what you say about acid techno and hardtek, I love that stuff, while I find the detroit stuff quite boring! I think if they had a techno tent, the way forward would have to be them playing all styles of techno. I personally would like it to be fairly minimal during the day and get harder and faster as the night goes on.

Btw, I'm not even gonna comment on what you said about the psy trance...

yeah there were two of 'em, I was just commenting on the miserable lank-haird dude who does all the singing and stuff... The other dude was sort of hidden away at the back a bit more... maybe he was having a bad hair day. TDK is such a trash festival though - chockablock with proper trendy shoreditch twats with extreme mullets and wearing aviator shades at night and stuff. I think the only good people I remember seeing was Plaid and Cylob, who were both typically awesome, and there weren't even that many people watching them... everyone else was probably in the other room dancing to Kasabian djs or some such shite. That reminds me, I really fucking hope Cylob plays again this year. He was on at the same time as squarepusher last year i seem to remember, which kinda pissed me off as I wasn't gonna miss mr jenkinson. I heard his set on the breezblock a couple of weeks later and it was pretty killer stuff.

cylob played the best set of the festival last year IMHO, but he was on much earlier in the evenig than squarepusher mate, so u could have seen both easily

the quote went a bit wrong and now i look like i'm having a conversation with myself...

Has anyone got the recent Seed Records vol.1 comp? there's some awesome stuff on there by lots of artists i haven't heard of before. In fact one of the only peeps I have heard of before is Cursor Miner. I got his album when that came out a year or two ago but it was pretty awful, lots of weird songs that sound like nightmarish kids tv show theme tunes (that sounds kinda good... but it wasn't) like "Me & My Clone" etc. A bit of a joke really. But he provides the third track on this comp and it's a total change of direction and is one of the best tunes i've heard in absolutely ages... if all his new stuff is like this he'd be a good addition to fest, without a doubt!
