Would be nice if someone who is going down thursday could ring a mate to post on here how bad it really is. Not for dealers but just to let the casual user who risks alot of shit to neck just a few pills. For the sake of have a good weekend this could potentially ruin a persons life. Yes you could sya 'you know the risk'etc etc but a little help we could at least warn the less 'knowledgeable' whether there are dogs and xray there at least.:) In austrailia they have a'dog watch' system taht posts where the old bill have placed dogs at events just for this reason.

we all know the risks .

would you not have expected the police to say this or something similar before the event ?

no need to go on about it really , drugs are ilegal and the more talk about them the more the matter is highlighted .

Fuck the police! They only care about stats and figures anyway...probably looking to get a few easy drug arrests to make them look good.

Also i would not worry about sniffer dogs, they are only effective at sniffing out drugs over a short period of time and then can't be arsed so they would need alot of dogs to catch people out. :cop: That police chief seemed like a right knob to me, going on about terrorism in west berkshire, twat.
Jesus, did I say that? Or just think it? Was I talking? Did they hear me?

"There will be a substantial police presence at the Glade festival and we'll be taking a particular interest in the drugs issue."

Grrr, this makes me so angry, the tone the authorities use when referring to us 'ravers'. I hate bhow drug use has become so synonimous with dance culture. The idiots will find drugs at any festival; Reading, Leeds, Glastonbury, anything.
There are drugs everywhere, every type of music venue, not just the dance music ones. It's blatantly discrimination.

The local indie club in peterborough has far more drugs and dealers than the one that holds drum and bass / psytrance / breaks parties! Everyone's on coke and pills and pissed too, so they are all up for a fight.

I hate it.

What a cunt ! still at least hes given us a bit of a warning lol . Soon as i heard the old bill were opposed to the glade going ahead i knew that they were gonna be bang on it this year...i aint even gonna be getting messy this year but its more the thought that were constantly being watched that pisses me off..like was said before you deal or take drugs at your own risk fair enough thats the law a shit one at that ...but still the whole idea of being watched by these mofo's is pretty unnerving i find

The doesn't mean we can't complain about how ridicuously draconian those consequences are though...

But yeah, after the reports about security last year i am all for an increased police presence, but just to keep security in line :)
A short cut has to be at least a little bit difficult, otherwise it would just be the way

Guys, if you're going to discuss such things, I'd just like to point out that this is an open forum...you don't need to be invited or even apply to read it. Be very careful with what you say ;) you don't know who's watching.

Spot on, Sparkly. :)

I put up the article as it's public information and I felt everyone going to the festival had the right to know about it. The superintendent did issue a warning after all, so obviously people need to be aware of that warning...

Folks, you're all adults and capable of making your own choices. All we're doing here is letting you know the score.

Swapping tips on how to get stuff in is a bad idea, by the way, partly because half the time the advice is duff and partly because anyone can read these forums as Sparkly says...

I dunno Sperge, this one sounds like a dead cert

:D

I just don't understand why anyone would openly use drugs at a festival. There are kids around, and even worse, n00bs who haven't brought their own personal supplies and try and get whatever they can in an effort to get twatted. The last thing you need is some balloon coming up to you and pushing pills on you when you're trying to dance. I'm all for stopping dealers, they ruin the festival for everyone else. The dogs and police are looking to stop people selling drugs, primarily, but if you're being blatant about using them then you really do deserve to be pulled up for being so belligerent. You wouldn't do it in a club.

Having said that, if Sid comes wandering round on Saturday I will be buying a paper from him.
