I'm sorry, I'm not talking about drug, I'm criticizing the stupid (in my view) approach of the police chief thinking that:
1) There is a (huge) drug problem at Glade, which in my 3 years glade experience is not true. Of course there some people using drugs, but not more than any other festival/concert (and probably any school or office).
2) General thinking of police chief that anyone listening to electronic music has to be considered as a drug user.
3) Completly ignoring all the other crimes prevention/repression at Glade, when the tent thieves is clearly a proved and recurrent issue (probably not worst at Glade than any other festival/gathering of this size, but still a concern for the majority of people going).
On the positive side, I suspect that, without saying it, he admits that desorderly behaviors and mostly binge drinking and the resulting fights (as you can experience at Reading festival for example) is a non issue at Glade. The same is also valid for the total absence of vandalism/depredation in the surrounding area, the fact that no one drop litter out of the site (ever been on the road between reading festival and the station???), etc... etc..
Of all the festival I have attended in UK and Europe, clearly Glade is the cleanest one (thanks to litter pickers and good behaviour of the public), the most friendly one (saw one small fight between 2 people in 3 years).
But of course I suspect the police chief feels a lot more at home and safe at a football match
