Me and my mate Rich have just got home from Glade. We picked the worst possible place to pitch our tents, right by the entrance. Turns out there was a drainage ditch behind the toilets 100 metres from our tents. By the morning this ditch was overflowing around and under the toilets and was still rising. The rain started last night about 11pm and apart from a half hour break carried on till 1pm today. I was relatively lucky in that i had a bed and was off the ground but Rich woke up in his sleeping bag 4inches underwater. By 1pm when the rain stopped my bed was underwater and the water in my tent was 6 inches deep. Everything i took was soaked through. From reports we heard the overkill tent got the worst of it as far as the dance tents were concerned and was shin deep at 1pm.

The journey back was nuts too. Loads of water flowing accross the road everywhere, fallen trees from the lighting. Madness. Sort of wish that we stayed, but looking at the forecasts i think we've done the right thing. Staying would have meant being constantly wet with no possesions and very little money. Any more rain and that site is going to go downhill quickly. I hope everyone there is gonna be ok.

Most dissapointing
:(

Our tent was flooded near entrance. took a look around the music areas and Overkill was a foot under. Roads had turned to rivers, so thought fuck this need to get out and I don't think I left a moment to soon or I may never have got my car out. Got stuck in Woolhampton, no way back to the midlands so had to sit it out till the night. finally got home at 4:30 Saturday morning. Not fun.

fkin ell mate!! sympathies!!

hope you & your kit & vehicle are ok. i saw lot's of abandoned cars on the way home on main roads, we got through (just,) shocking though all the people coming 'other way with caravans!!

i very nearly pitched near the entrance (more shade innit?) but in two minds of that, or i.d spiral end, so i landed near the two wicker ladies. a good spot but i was soooo wet on friday i didn't wanna get back in my tent!!

i feel so sorry for the stalls & equipment & the workers who were (are?) fighting the tide. nothing but admiration for these guys, & for you lot on site! :wackyhat: off to you!!
