That tallies with what I've heard from others, who may have witnessed the same incident. This defo needs investigating.

after he was back on the floor a very brave oxfam steward asked them to let him try to talk to him and by this point the least stupid of them realised there were far too many witnesses and grudgingly got off his chest and let him. This was when i tried to offer water and got shoved away. A bloke caught me before i fell and said "come on man, ease up, just give him some water" and was told to fuck off. he tried again, saying "you are denying him his basic human right" and got the same answer, then the oxfam steward and terrifed skinny mostly-naked guy got in the back of the pick-up and we chucked the bottle in after them just before the door slammed and legged it before the security could get to us too.

i really hope he is ok and that someone managed to film this - it was horrible :(

Holy crap that does not sound good! Lets just hope it was an isolated incident...

I feel incredibly lucky though that we heard/saw no security related problems/tent theiving...

(though i did come back on friday night to find my tent unzipped but nothing taken :? )

Maybe waterpistols with a few acid tabs in would be adequete payback for the meatheads who threw you're mate out.

It'd be entertaining and an educational lesson for the meatheads in how to deal with people who are in an altered state. I saw this being done years ago at Glastonbury where some traveller kids were spraying the police with this same cocktail. I had a wicked photo of a WPC with her jacket open, sweating like a bastard with two glow sticks rockin to some dance music!

Let everyone in on the fun!!!!

I didn't see any trouble with the security and it looked like they were doing a good job to me but it sounds like i'm in the minority.
One point I would make is that some people don't know the meaning of discretion when it comes to drug taking/selling and at the end of the day it is illegal and the festivals future could be in jepardy if it is blatently on show. It was mentioned that people should film acts of violence towards festival-goers by the security (an idea which I support), but if anyone with the intention of shutting the festival down was to film the blatent drug taking going on, i'm pretty sure I know who would have the most condeming footage. The acts of violence i've read about are shocking and should be investigated but a little more descretion from the punters wouldn't be a bad thing.

Shadow Security

Postby Tec on 19 Jul 2006, 09:10

Well, i feel i need to offer congratulations to the Glade Team on employing a team of utterly corrupt violent wanker's to enforce law and order at your party this year.

I am truly astonished at your decision in getting these thugs to 'police' the festival. They were aggressive, intimidating, thieves and most of all cunts. The most complete set of cunts i have ever witnessed at any festival i have attended in 15 years of going out.

The other team Stewart on the other hand were perfectly friendly and extremely helpful...its a shame they weren't the full-time security staffing the site.

I had a friend who had all her drugs stolen off her (please don't start saying that what she had was illegal anyway as i will just laugh), i had a friend who was hit in the face for no apparent reason These guys were purposely stealing drugs off people in order to either take or sell on themselves. It all kicked off at ID Spiral when one of their 6 man strong hit-squad started getting aggressive with random groups of people trying to relax and chill out. These are just a few examples. I am sure there are many many more. I am also convinced that these tosser's had a part to play in the Thursday night tent possesion stealing. It would be quite easy to get a few of your mates in and let them run wild targeting anyone they chose and then sit back and await your cut of the proceeds.

This issue has pissed me off like no other. I suggest you review and possibly even research the security you use for 2007 festival if there is to be one. Its a vital aspect and i believe you have been very complacent regarding this for 2006.

Shadow security were the bunch of cunts Tec says they were. So many ppl complaing over the weekend. They were very intimidating and aggressive. Soo much time spent hassling the real punters, not enough energy spent on keeping the fencejumpers out. They really thought they were the dogs bollox, and didnt get what the whole festival was about. I dont mind assholes like them keeping the fencejumpers out. Just keep the cunts outside the perimeter aswell.

Stuart Security

Postby Decline on 19 Jul 2006, 12:07

I totally agree with all the comments made regarding stuart security, it isa tough job to do, but i agree that they did not take the right approach to doing so. I think in this case if you felt that you were miss treated by the security force or generally would like to place a complaint your best bet is contacting stuart security direct. For reference their email is info@stuartsecurity.co.uk or there actual address is online through this link http://www.stuartsecurity.co.uk/contact.html

All in all though a cracking weekend!!

Agreed. THe stuart guys seemed bang-on, but the shadow ones were rough enough to put the shits up me, and I've been raving for 12 years, even around the infamous "sanctuary security" in that time :fear:

Perhaps one of the organisers would like to comment?

Yeah. I'd very much like to hear an explanantion from somebody directly involved in the organisation of G2006 as to why this totally unacceptable behaviour was allowed to occur.

I for one are seriously considering sacking off Glade 2007 because of this.

I Agree Shadow security are a bunch of tossers! I witnessed how "upset " they got on sunday night too, when they thought the'yd heard one of these ravers calling them a cunt, however being witness to the fact that not one comment was passed by these guys, though the thought may have been in their minds!! :P thank you for bringing the Acid Tekno to the attention of not just the security, but the rest of us stragglers on sunday night good to see that there are still some of us willing to fight the cause. unfortunate that it's still on the sidelines, chompin at the bit hopefully the Glade organisers will have heard them this year. why not house the overkill and the Gabba tekheds 2gether and have an Acid Tekno tent!!!!!!!!!!!!
c'mon Glaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade!!!!
AcidTekno303 wrote::( Complete bunch of tossers Sunday night they were, they were really up for a row until they were confronted by the ravers :) , we were actually told to stop cheering by some twat :cop: , i was threatened with ejection and my little philips stereo confiscated if didn't comply but we still partied so fuck you security i know you have a difficult job to do but some people skills are definetly required as things could have got very nasty, don't underestimate the ravers as we stick together in such predicaments  ha. Thankyou though Glade organisers for another Stonka of a weekend and do you have some sort of deal with the big man upstairs for such wonderful weather ? .

i was tryin to walk in with my stereo on saturday afternoon and they didnt let me in with it....they told me it would cause too much disturbance....bollocks!...so 5 arenas of music aint a 'disturbance'.

i was thouroughly searched...but thats all good...dont want tossers comin in with knives n that...i think if your lame enough not to hide your drugs when entering its your own fault for gettin caught.

my mate was at the id spiral when security were busting people for smoking weed....this is pretty shit...iv had police officers come up to me before and not bother me for it.

they seemed to have nothing better to do than be petty...cos they know if their petty it will cause a reaction from a person, then they can start using force...whivh they get their kicks out of.

im goin again next year...id like a different security company though tbh.

Incidents I saw

* Skinny naked guy some of you saw, must of been before they threw him in a van. About 4 of them were dragging him along the ground by his arms, he was clearly very young and distressed, had no top on and his jeans were falling down. He was screaming about being abused and assulted and so on. They stopped about 15 metres from us and were holding him down and shouting at him to "Be a man and walk, if you won't walk we'll drag you". We were horrified and a bit wrecked and were scared to intervene thinking we might get the same treatment. He wouldn't stand up although they were holding him down and so after a minute or two of this they dragged him off, guessing he got thrown in the wagon after they took him away although we didn't see this. He was physically not big enough to warrant such force being used against him.

* Tents behind us raided by totally heavy handed security (7 of them and a van) cos someone was smoking a joint outside their tent, they were searched, had two bags of a class C substance found and were all thrown out.

* Security driving extremely recklessly in a jeep, drove into a 15ft or taller high light pole which fell over, could of killed someone easily if they didn't see it coming. They were laughing and clearly thought it was a big joke.

Although this didn't ruin the festival for me it did shit me up a bit, esp the half naked guy as we were a bit mashed and it was a horrible thing to see, felt terrible afterwards for not stepping in but they were acting like such scary bastards none of my crew wanted to get involved in case we got dragged off too. Very very poor professional standards, if anyone finds a place to lodge official complaints please let me know
