oooh yes i remember the sound blips, sudden high pitched squeaking for a second...ahhh!

I thought the sound was spot on to be honest, sounded crystal clear and nice and loud. I do wonder about people complaining it being quiet...their ears cant be in good shape. I had to stand back quite a lot from the front of stages because it was a little bit too much!

A little off topic I know (I don't really want to get involved in this topic) but did we by any chance see you at the Overkill stage on Sunday going bananas to DJ Scotch Egg? Somebody fitting your (self-proclaimed) description certainly was.

firstly all i can say to the angry bummed out people is show your bloody britishness would you and give some stiff upper lip and be less arrogant about your music tastes/sound quality ect. Were better than this and being angry and pissed doesnt make you feel better, it doesnt make the glade organisers feel obliged to help you and it definately doesnt encourage them to put in the effort again next year. I dont think anyone can deny that glade has the potential to be one of the most magical festivals there is and whether your good experience was this year or last year or whenever it has to be noted that youve had a good time and what you really want is next time to be even better right? Therefore instead of having a flat out juvinile bitching forum which is what this has become i think it would be more appropriate to have a constructive criticism thread to help enable the glade organisers to make next year the most boosting glade ever!

This is how it goes you dont say im annoyed because of this, you say next year i would be soo happy if " idea" happened because " reason why it would be beneficial". Hopefully then the organisers will take note and improve things for next year. I know im gonna be there!

For instance , next year i want the to be more obvious programes available on the gate so that i will definately be able to organise what artist i want to see

Also i hope that if its wet again next year that glade organisers would concider laying down straw bails to sit on and to make the mud easier to walk through.

I would also like to see some form of drainage system for the water taps so the poor people in tents near then dont get soaked. Likewise with toilet waste so that in the event of extreme weather we dont have sewage getting loose.

If we make these request politely now there is absolutely no reason why they should not be included in the buisness plan for next years festival.

Cheers, Sam

bloody hell.

i think the people who moaned about this would've have moaned whatever the circumstance. just because they werent sat at their computer with aphex twin playing at full volume whilst their dog was giving them a blowjob.

i was just having a quick browse on here post-festival and was appalled to see all the moaning....

=>no one wanted it to rain. i didnt want it to rain. i would not have missed the rain if it hadn't rained, but i don't think i would have enjoyed it anymore if it hadn't. but i mean that as in the best way.

=>why don't you shut the fuck up about the sound and enjoy the music. it only seems to be the overkill geeks moaning. i think everyone else was too busy enjoying themselves. louder is better but get a grip. in the circumstance it wasnt possible so just make the most of what you've got, get munted and enjoy.

=>£3.20 for a beer? yeah that is a bit steep i agree. BUT - no one is making you buy it. if you are moaning about the price but then still buying it, then chances are you can comfortably afford it, so quit it already.

=> same goes for the food. yeah festival food is always expensive. but like someone mentioned earlier, glade seems to have a better choice of food than most other festivals, and whilst i felt i was paying well over the odds for meals, i enjoyed everything i ate. ever heard of a camping stove and a tin of beans? weather is no excuse either...

its so easy to be bitter and defeated. dont do it. just embrace the surroundings and rather than let them control you, adapt to them and appricate everything in relative terms and just... loosen up a bit i guess?!

peace & love!

to all complaining about the car park:

1) get the bus :)

2) The farmers charging between £5-£40 to tow cars will have lost thousands and thousands of pounds because of the floods so if the car park at Glade gave them the oppertunity to make some money back who are we to complain? Whilst they were towing people out of the mud and rain it will have still been damaging their land, buildings and crops, AND i'm would imagine they worked for a very, very long time without breaks. Yes it sucks but it happens. It's no one fault except your chosen higher powers!

Anyone moaning about the Overkill levels please read this thread: http://www.gladtalk.co.uk/forum/overkill-t4153.html

It explains how the tent chosen for the site was damaged coming from another festival therefore there wasn't space for the original speaker system therefore they had to use a different one. Also a post from the guys who ran the stage: it almost didn't get opened the whole weekend. At least it did is all I can say.

To those who say there should have been pumps - the whole local area was flooded: there would have been no pumps for love nor money within 100 miles. Farmers would have been more concerned with saving their livestock than a load of festival goers, the council was dealing with hundreds of homes being destroyed. At least het festival didn't get cancelled on Friday which is might well have done.
