You can't turn against it because the producer allegedly had a strop. If your leting that cload his talent and reputation then surly you wernt a big fan in the first place. So don't go see him and leave some dancing room for his real fans.

He's definitely good at what he does, I'll give him that as I've seen some blistering performances from him on a couple of occasions.

But it's equally clear that he's become "the big I Am" as unfortunately a lot of people do when they become stars and get surrounded by sycophants who indulge every little tantrum. I'm with rr on this one, he's become a cock and is a little too big for his boots now.

There are plenty more musicians out there, he doesn't need any more of my money.

Eh.

Snares was booked to play in The Shelter in Dublin sometime in October 2004 (maybe?). He was playing a gig in Rennes, France the night before which he didn't get onstage until 6:30am. Consequently, he didn't get much sleep, slept it in, missed his flight by 30 minutes and couldn't get another one in time. He was then booked to play the Temple Bar Music Centre and April 2005, which he played, and The Hub in June 2006 which he also played. He hasn't been booked to play in Dublin since.

It's worth pointing out that Snares reimbursed the promoter for the money the promoter lost when the gig in The Shelter didn't go ahead. There aren't many people around that would do that.

Snares deserves alot more credit than what he's getting here.

nope :)

Wow, insightful answer right there.

A senior member of the production team (using the name 'free spirit' here) gave his own response to the Venetian Snares incident and the Overkill sound issues in this post: http://www.gladtalk.co.uk/forum/post62595.html#62595

Oh well I tryed, he's still the best cock in my record collection.

I don't like to get in these sort of arguments either, still, this thread wouldent even exist if they'd have just put him on the mainstage where hew belongs...

I will say no more, moving swiftly on

knew twas kickin around somewhere

http://core.thomaslaupstad.com/new-live-mix-from-venetian-snares-live-at-abracadabra-moscow-042007/

snares live at abracadabra fest in moscow, 2 parts, about hour & ten mins
he's got a lot of new stuff in the mix since this set but its still awesome.
anyone got anything newer then this?
im dying to hear that track that starts off reggae & then goes into some crazy sci-fi sounding tune
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow, what a ride."
