First time impression

Postby nedster on 09 Aug 2007, 21:44

As a newbie to the Glade exp, I first have to say what a great fucking year to pick as my first. I like mud, in fact as a kid one of my most fav games was "stuck in the..." however, for all those that told me what a fab place it was without all that oozing sludge - aghhhhhhhhhhhh!

After me and my gf could not get our car in because of a flood we had to book into a pub on the Friday night but once checked in we were determined to walk back to glade whatever. Highlights that evening - forgetting my wellies, wading through a river to finally get in, dancing in mud, getting a little too erm twisted, losing my shoes, then having to wade back through the river to get back to the pub only to find we had been locked out, breaking in the pub, crashing for a few hours, having a hot shower!!, driving back to glade, getting directed to a new car park (oh what luck that was!!!!!) we finally got settled on Sat morning!

After that well, what can do but party - we did. Fortunately we had friends in the camper field so the next 48 hours of the mud fest were sometimes punctuated with moments of almost sanity. Part from the fact borrowed a pair of boots a cpl of sizes too small and still have the blisters!

Yeah the music was a bit quiet (so we shouted louder), yeah the toilets were not emptied often enough (so we drank jd without the coke), yeah the showers ran out of water (so we smelt) and yeah the car park was tricky to get out of (well actually ours wasn’t) – but have to say, it was one fucking hilarious experience and everyone we danced with, chatted to, smiled at was a superstar and I wouldn’t change a thing!

Looking forward to doing it again with but preferably without the you know what…x

My first as well. Mixed feelings, really. Now I KNOW some people adore the rain, and some people'll say that it didn't ruin their experience, but it kinda did for me. Don't get me wrong-the music and atmosphere was ecstatic, but I just couldn't look on the bright side of waking up in the morning in a puddle of SHIT. I realize that this isn't exactly Glade's fault, I think they got it bang-on in terms of layout and creativity, but my morale was seriousy down the tom when I had to do anything other than listen to the music.

I'm going next year, deffo. I just have to cross my fingers and hope that it's blisteringly and mind-numbingly hot as oppossed to wet*

Hello all newbies!!!! this year hasnt ruined my expectations of Glade, because it all comes as part of the experience. The weather is somthing that we cannot personally control, so make the most of it!!!!

I still thought it was wicked, a bit tiring with all the slogging through mud, but it made for good entertainment! I lost my wellies in the mud a couple of times!!!

This was my first festival, so obviously my first Glade and I fucking loved it. In fact every time I think of Glade I get really happy and a bit sad at the same time, it was like another world. I enjoyed the rain and mud but it just made things a bit of a hassle when it came down moving about and places to sit, for instance. I can't wait for 2008, just over seven months til Glade, god damn I'm excited. I'll be there come rain or shine...

For a tenner I'd want some form of return. Full frontal nude pics of your-self will do. Please send to C. Langham PO Box 1106 essex.
