Right I have never been to the Glade before. Been to its incarnation at glastonbury though.

What am I to expect in terms of crowd sizes, alcohol sales, ques and general vibe.

What are the people like and what am I to look forward to? Is it like glastonbury a huge bunch of civil servants pretending to be hippies or is it more of a everyones off on one so its balls to the walls party hard gurning fest?

Do people shout bollox at 4 in the morning?




And ofcourse as it is a festival. Will they be showing the football?

its full of hippies and madhawks, crowd was a nice size last year but its gonna be a bit bigger this year, booze was fine, bit of a que sometimes but not bad, and just typical festival prices. general vibe is the bomb, best festival ever, so dont worry about it.

people have glowstick fights at 4 in the morning, theres no time to shouut bollox cause the music just stopped and the glowstick fight is about to commence

The overall vibe I found to be very friendly last year. everyone had a great attitude, and I saw no trouble whatsoever. Saw lots of fights and assorted nonsense at Glasto when I went 2 years ago, but none of that here. Everyone I met was friendly and chatty (even if the chat sometimes made no sense as people were bolloxed)!

I would say it is a gurn-fest, with everyone pretty much on something. I love wondering around hearing people talking random shit and tripping balls...

Only been once so far, but its the best music event I have ever been to dor sure.

It really is like a condensed version of all the best things about Glastonbury, and very little of the shite. No bloody corporate logos, hardly any chavs and no 'tourists' either.

The vibe is just perfect - and goes a long way to explain why the organisers have made a lot of the decisions that they have. They could easily have sold the tickets out within minutes if they'd released the full lineup and plastered ads all over the place. But they'd rather keep it low key to ensure the right party people come.

define "tourists"?

People who've heard about how 'great' Glastonbury is and figure it is something they have to do. They know the headliner and maybe the top 7 or 8 other acts on the list, but have no real passion for the music. They think that all that mud and 'Dunkirk' spirit is jolly fun, until the first time it rains and they discover living in a tent on a muddy field takes a certain lack of giving a toss about yourself.

They spend the whole festival bitching about the toilets where the odour aint quaint, bitching about people of there heads, bitching about the 'average' music that makes up the line up.

There worst crime in my eyes is taking fotos of many of the punters at the festi as if they were fucking animals in a zoo. The sort of people who've been going for decades, dress abit different and find a festival that should be non judgemental a place to let there hair down relax and feel accepted however they look or act. Instead they point and take pictures like its a freek show.

Oh and atter bitching and crying there way through the festival they tell everyone they talk to how 'great' the dunkirk spirit was. Because they dont want people to see them for the pampered twats they are.

People who set up their deckchairs to perch in front of the Pyramid Stage all day, then go up to Lost Vagueness to gawp at the weirdos they've read in the paper about and standing around expecting to be entertained instead of being the entertainment.

One of the biggest impressions it had on me was how friendly the atmosphere was, there was never any worry of trouble even when it got late.

As said it is very non-corporate, there are no "big brands" about the place, and this keeps the personal, homegrown vibe.

The less than 13/over 18 restriction is another good point, they've basically eliminated all the potential annoying teenagers (Ok I'm 19, but I'm past my annoying years, honest! )

Just plain great really.
