Yehhh I know what you all mean! I really miss Glade! And all the lovely friends I made! I know exactly what you mean by those brain throbs, I've always suffered them after an extremely heavy one... to me it feels like tiny electric shocks in my head.. and I keep waking myself up jolting :? Last night I woke up and said 'OH NO I NEED THE LOO!' really loudly because I thought I was in my tent

......However, something REALLY REALLY good has come out of Glade and I'm on top of the world right now ImageImageImage

Commonly known as headshocks - caused by sleep deprivation but also a combination of seratonin depletion and usually occurs more in those who go on the smash more often and harder. It's your brain's way of saying "slow down mate"

Make sure you get a few good solid nights' sleep and eat a couple of bananas a day, or take some 5HTP, whichever's handiest.

I had one on Sunday morning when trying to sleep.

Ive been getting them all week and I keep screamin out in my sleep for someone to wake me up cause my dreams are so horrific.

Anyone else get the sense of impending doom? Its just like when your about to fall into deep sleep but theres a flash of light and you body jolts up as if it didnt you were about to die?

(maybe need a wee rest)

Just read all above posts and all i need is a few bananas and im away to me bed!

I've also felt proper shit since getting back. Pretty much broke up with the girlfriend just before I left, Glade was a total escape from all the crap that goes along with that and being at work and at home. I'm supposed to be working at Reading, really don't know if I can face my 3rd muddy festival this year. Bleh.

I feel your pain, I don't think i can face another muddy one this year either. :(

My next one is Beautiful Days in August, although supposedly we will get our proper summer back by then.

Aside from the bruises (falling) aches (dancing) head mush zombiness (paracetamol?) and everything sounds like techno - eg bog flushing, cars, trains etc

Discovered I had parked my mates car in the wrong car park on thursday, oops, only £125 PER FUCKING DAY to get the clamp off!

Glade total £300?
Parking in the wrong place £500

Thanks for the comfort responses and words of wisdom ppl. I've done a bit of reading up on the 'headshock' thing. Apparently the body is unable to move consciously when we are in the land of nod (it's a survival thing apparently). But as we're nodding off, parts of our brain can still be awake. So we are consciously aware of ouselves and feel 'awake' but the body thinks it's asleep. It's at this point we have 'sleep paralysis'. You are awake in your head, but you can't move your body. Needless to say this feels wrong and we get a bit of a panic coming on - bring on the adrenaline and feelings of impending doom. You finally wake up fully, feel frightened and a bit shitty and kind of don't want to nod off again in case it happens again - which often it does.

The best I can advise is just go with it. If and when it occurs, once you are awake, just remind yourself that you are ok, it's just the post-party process of getting back on track.

Hope that helps.

Blah, always get post festival sadness and that was even before I started on the class A's. These days no matter how many 5-HTP and bananas you eat an eighth of Mandy aint gonna just go...

Plus I'm pretty sure that's my last festy/holiday of the "summer". I wanna be back at Glade/Sonar/Bloc/anywhere apart from here doing the late shift at work...
