Not only was it an open mic extravaganza, if you were lucky enough to be carrying a carrot (a ticket in this strange and mysterious land) you could crawl through a muddy and dark tunnel which would lead you into a large tent with a table occupied by a man known only as The Wizard. Once the carrot has been delivered he will fill you with wisdom and anecdotes that only a South African wizard living on the Isle of Wight could have collected. Really, it was just a tent backstage where the wizard (a friend of the organiser) was paid to hang out haha.

thanks again to the white rabbit for allowing our piano and drum mishap to take place. i felt like a performing monkey hammering away on the keys for 30mins. after being awake for 48hours then having 3 hours 'sleep' my concentration span was somewhere on a par with a goldfish.

it was quite full when we started, and it was quite empty when we finished...

whoopla!

The open mic was the most unorganised of all years, me and my brother were well looking forward to chilling out there, watching some tunes. For the first couple of days there was no live music, just dj's and when we asked staff, they hadn't a clue what we were on about. Pooo, so I lost faith. But it turns out there was music after all hmm?

Hi Kayble - the open mic line up at the glade was awesome! Jabberwok, Legion Of Filth, The Mad Cows, The Lock-Up... to name but a few - the fact that it only really kicked off towards the weekend was inevitable given the weather - you obviously spoke to the wrong people at The Rabbit Hole about the line-up in future if you want to know the score speak to either Poshratz ,Dug or The White Rabbit... either one of us would be happy to keep you in the loop. Come back next year - you won't be disappointed.

I didn't check out the rabbit hole last year, but this year it was fucking great. The atmosphere in there was fantastic, and all the old-school oil-plate visuals were wonderful (I've only ever seen them once before at a gig, and before that only in old pictures of Pink Floyd playing at the UFO club or somewhere like that). If anyone was lucky enough to have wandered into there after the music finished on Saturday night, the vibe was truly electric. I was desperately trying to raise my sleeping friends to get up and come down there but they wouldn't budge. I only hung out there for a little while but it was one of the highlights of the festival for me.
