We weren't into dance music of any kind - it was what we had always avoided at the big G - but we thought we would try it anyway. The 4500 strong crowd at that first one were absolutely the nicest people we had ever met and this was enough to tempt us back in 05. In 05 something strange happened and we suddenly realised that wherever we stood on site we could hear FANTASTIC music. Every stage was pumping out stuff we had never heard but instantly loved. At 34 (rapidly going on 35) I am well past the teenage love of music that is all encompassing yet somehow that year my passion was rekindled and revitalised. I have now been to every Glade and never looked back
I spend far too much on trackitdown buying tunes on a weekly basis, I DJ at private parties, I suddenly have an mp3 collection in excess of 50GB (over 14000 tracks) and I, once again, live for music. Glastonbury for us is a thing of the past (this year was the last straw) but The Glade has become the high point of my year (with 07 being the best weekend of my life).
I'm sorry but I have to say yes there is a point to The Glade. How better to celebrate being alive?
