In 2004, I can't now remember how, I heard about a new Glastonbury spin-off festival - The Glade - and having enjoyed every Glasto since 92 me and mrs T thought, "hell, why not?" We weren't into dance music of any kind - it was what we had always avoided at the big G - but we thought we would try it anyway. The 4500 strong crowd at that first one were absolutely the nicest people we had ever met and this was enough to tempt us back in 05. In 05 something strange happened and we suddenly realised that wherever we stood on site we could hear FANTASTIC music. Every stage was pumping out stuff we had never heard but instantly loved. At 34 (rapidly going on 35) I am well past the teenage love of music that is all encompassing yet somehow that year my passion was rekindled and revitalised. I have now been to every Glade and never looked back

I spend far too much on trackitdown buying tunes on a weekly basis, I DJ at private parties, I suddenly have an mp3 collection in excess of 50GB (over 14000 tracks) and I, once again, live for music. Glastonbury for us is a thing of the past (this year was the last straw) but The Glade has become the high point of my year (with 07 being the best weekend of my life).

I'm sorry but I have to say yes there is a point to The Glade. How better to celebrate being alive?

YES

glade is like the crossover event from the fully underground raves to the more commercial types, whereby you get big artists who don't play at either type and also the smaller up and coming one's for people like me to discover!!! This culminating in a truely amazing weekend :wackyhat:
Glade 2008 Ill be there!!

If you ask that question you obviously dont get what Glade is about. Maybe try Creamfields or Global Gathering, probably more your cup of tea.

Living in London people can be pretty fucking rude and to anybody that's met me they'd probably say I try and look for the best in everyone I meet. And a lot of the time this is very difficult. But the people that Glade brings together restores my faith in humanity.

Plus the music is fucking awesome. I can't stop raving at the moment. I'm like that cycle courier from Spaced at the moment....lol

The worst bit is that is ACTUALLY my ex-boyfriend. He was a cycle courier, pill-munching, raver, mood-swingy psychopath. :D

EDIT: Though unfortunatley any money that was owed to anybody that he forgot about was to me. *scowl*

No point really, but then what is the point? It's just a bit of fun. We all need to have some fun no doubt. I really don't understand why stuff like this has to have a point. I get fed up with all these hippy club nights trying to make out they are achieving something beyond giving a bunch of ppl some fun for the night.
