bit daft to bitch at gtickets when you can't get an accurate forecast more than 4 days away. besides, these things require permissions, they can't move structures without applying for it first which could take months, & if they did, where would they put it? on the hill? it wouldn't go ahead at all!

i do have reservations about using a site like that when it *could* get very swampy & it did get saturated during june... but still too late to do anything
who sir me sir no sir what sir

errr just off the top of my head, turning the vapor tent into a welfare tent. Its hard for glade to actually do things to improve the underfoot conditions as the land isnt theirs to do what they will with, blame the estate for that. I do agree they should have organised something to help get people out of the car park, at least some decent information.

You know to expect the worst when you go to an english festival with forecast rain, some people were ridiculously underprepared.

But it would have broken the site, it's a nature reserve, it's been fucked enough already without gravel aswell

what harm is a bit of mud??? my friends thoroughly enjoyed walking through the three foot water to get to glade. It was an adventure. You're never going to enjoy anything if you only see bad in everything.

It was an amazing festival.

There are still people stuck there having to fork out 40quid plus to get there cars towed out!

Can people please stop with these silly chinese whispers. £40?? They were charging a fiver! Maybe £10. And that had nothing to do with g tickets, that was local farmers.

We had great fun teraing the fence down and turning it into roads to help people out. Like I said, it's all part of the adventure.

waist high in water is more than "just a bit of mud" and unfortunatly these aren't chinese whispers there reports from people that have been and in some cases are still on site.

I ask AGAIN why are people having to pay!?! why isn't glade doing something anything!!!!
to tow people out of there after doing nothing up untill now it would be something at least.

sounds to me like alot of people on here are friends of glade workers/organisers and defending them which i understand, but i and many others are speaking as festival goers that were forgotten once they paid there 120 pound, its not like i will get that money back either so sorry, but people need to stop makeing excuses for them and start telling it how it is

Peace.

But you weren't even there! I don't think it's fair that you comment on something you didn't witness, and if you didn't pay £40 yourself, then it is just the same as Chinese whispers. We happily paid £5 by the time the tractor got to us. I don't see what the problem with that is, I paid more for shit food while I was on site. My grumble would be that the Glade organisers should have organised some stewards or information for the car park. I'm not defending Glade, I am pissed off about a couple of things, but then I was actually there and feel I have a right to moan.

cheers for pulling that reply straight out of your ass............ i however didn't, and am just going of information from good friends who were there and their hardly going to lie........... but don't take my word for it there's plenty of posts on here from people i dont know backing up wots being said sooo cheers but me thinks its you who needs to get the facts right. U were very lucky to a get a tow for five pounds other people were not so lucky.

Am simply saying as other festivals that have had the same problem managed to get tracktors to tow people for no charge as the festival organised it.... now that IS action..... i don't expect everyone to agree (especially since yes, most of you still seem to have beer googles on) but like everyone else I AM INTITLED TO AN OPINION and i am going on fact not fiction. cheers.

Firstly I'd like to thank the Glade oraganisers for putting on a great festival in pretty extreme conditions. Generally things went much better than I expected them to. I think the volume issues were better than last year. Certainly the Vapour stage was loud enough untill 4. My only moans are about the car park and water. There were no more taps than last year and they were so poorly signed that it took ages to find one, especially by the stages. The car parking was a bit of a joke. If you know that 2 months of rain is forcast for 12 hours then get a metal track laid through the centre of the car park. I'm also pretty pissed off I had to pay a fiver to get towed. £120 should surely be enough for the organisers to ensure I can get on or off site. They should have paid the cost of the tractors because it was there lack of forsight that lead to the car park being such a mess.

Anyway, I still think the festival was a massive success and can't wait till 2008 be it in the sun or pouring rain![/i]

Personally I'm very, very pleased you didn't make it with an attitude like that. I simply said that as you weren't there I don't feel you have the right to comment or complain. There is absolutely no need to come back with that sort of a post. You are obviously very bitter about not being able to get to Glade. The price of the ticket does not cover the cost of hiring tractors and drivers for four days. I don't think you have the capacity to appreciate how much organisation and funding is required for an event like this. The tractor drivers were really safe and have lives themselves, don't forget they would have normally been at work on Monday which is probably why the price went up. We should be grateful really that they came at all, seeing as the rest of the area was obviously mullered by the rain and they had their own shit to sort out.

Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion, but you weren't there, so how can you complain so much? I did not accuse you of lying, but we all know that in situations like this friends can exaggerate stories and may not be actually as it happened, so unless you passed over £40 yourself, you can't call that 'fact'. It's not just the price of the tractor you have complained about, you've posted complaints in other threads, most of which was about things totally out of anyone's control. The fact is, I had a wicked time, even if it was a bit traumatic at times. I know for a fact that everyone worked their arses off to make sure that something could be salvaged from the situation, and I'm very, very grateful to them for that. I think maybe if you'd made it your opinion would be different as you would have had the good times to balance out the bad.

Firstly I have to say I had a great weekend and the resilience of people was good to see. However I do agree with alot of people on here that there should have been some fore thought by the organisers. Simple things such as bales of hay, which dont cost a lot, being layed down ever few hours in the tents and then in the car parks on the sunday/monday. Something I've also seen at other festivals is trenches being dug around the campsites and/or stage to drain the water off and then having the trenches pumped (but I guess this costs quite a lot more to hire pumps. Saying this there was some hay being bought in on sunday night but nowhere near enough. The water taps was again a major problem, where were all the extra ones we were promised, the one near our camp even stopped working on sunday! huge thanks to the Joe Bananas stall, without the wellies I got from them if would have been a nightmare. The sound on almost every stage was really good and then we come to the Overkill stage; I was told that their funktion1 system got waterlogged and so they had to hire one out, dunno if this is true or not?? If not then there is no excuse, in the Liquid tent the sound was massive, even on sunday, so lets hope theres an explanation for it. Still gonna go next year thoug :)

A little reminder:

http://www.gladtalk.co.uk/forum/rules-a ... -vt19.html

Check out rules #1, #2 and #11 in this case.

Diss or defend the Glade as much as you like but lay off the personal attacks please. That applies to people on both sides of the argument.

Thanks.

You do make me laugh, I thought the average age on this site was slightly higher than 14, asking whether I fancy you! Really, grow up. Yes, I suggest that your friends may have exaggerated, yes I do not think you have a right to complain about exiting a site you didn't even attend and yes, your threads did stick out because I kept thinking 'why do you care?'. If you want to complain about not being able to get there, then that's understandable, but you're complaining about stuff that didn't even effect you.

Also, with regards to your thread about deaths at Glade, do you not think it slightly irresponsible and scaremongering to post that without getting some facts straight first? Do you not think that a post like that might cause someone to worry unnecessarily? I don't actually think it was being very helpful at all.

I'm sure you'll probably post some long misspelt childish response now, without any well thought out argument. I quite like debating on forums, but not with people who just reduce themselves to calling someone a 'nob', I haven't met you so don't feel the need to insult you but I do think what you've posted today has been completely unnecessary. I don't really think this discussion can go any further, I have put my opinion across without insulting you and can't say I'm getting a particularly interesting or thought provoking response in return, and having said all I need to say, I'm off to some more positive threads.

I was pissed off and had a far from great time, but I don't hold anyone to account. OK there are probably things that could have been done better but don't forget there is no big control centre with all the organisers in where are the latest updates come in and a team of people ready to rush off and deal with things. The reality is that there are bits of information going in from various sources and people had to make the best decisions they could based on what they thought were priorities. Glade does not have the same infrastructure as Glastonbury and no where near the same amount of resources to pull on.

what a set!!! & i loved the battle he had with the sound guys aswell.
people constantly coming over to him & when they did turn it down, he got it back up again, guess they gave up after that.
anyone know the last track he played, when the 2nd guy on the laptop was talking about him, began with quite a sweet calm intro & then went mad.
completly blew me away.

KJ Sawka's sound was pretty dire, which was disapointing, but the guy was a fucking demon playing drums whilst playing with his laptop etc. Very impressive.
