Worthy Farm is bracing itself for a return of rinsing Amens and dancefloor carnage as Bang Face takes over Glastonbury Festival’s Glade Lounge once again, Ravetalk can now reveal. It takes place on the Thursday evening, 23 June, from 8pm to 3am.
Meanwhile, Bang Face’s dedicated followers – known as the ‘Hard Crew’ – are already stocking up on essential supplies, such as Buckfast “rave juice”, for their annual pilgrimage to the Bang Face Weekender, being held at the delightful Pontins’ Camber Sands holiday camp on the Sussex coast this weekend (13-15 May).
Hopes had been high for a guest appearance by the “bi-winning” celebrity Charlie Sheen, following a campaign on Facebook, but there are no signs so far of any involvement of tiger blood or Adonis DNA.
However, the combination of Hard Crew mayhem and headline sets from Leftfield, Jeff Mills and Atari Teenage Riot is likely to fulfil the warlock’s prediction: “Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body.”
This year’s fancy dress theme is officially “horror”, to celebrate the weekender being held on Friday the 13th, although some Hard Crew are known to apply their infamous offbeat humour to other parts of the festival, such as bringing Michael Barrymore masks to the pool party.
Warm-up sets are being played in the camp’s “Queen Vic” pub, some of them by Ravetalk regulars:
Gash – 14:00 / 15:00
Fotza – 15:00 / 16:00
Wombcorps – 16:00 / 17:00
Bassbin Terrorizer – 17:00 / 18:00
Solostrike (Melting universe) – 18:00 – 19:00
Dave Skywalker will play at the official opening ceremony from 7pm in the Bang Room.
