I had some for newyear which were my mates wee 'party horns' his girlfriend bought in a pound shop or something...and they made some noise.

I bought 2 online the other day from some emergency/fire services dept and they are bloody huge, with a fuck-off horn attatched. Still not got the courage to test one, quite dangerous if not alarming id imagine.

Just make sure you hold em so the horn goes upwards and don't blow anywhere near anyones ears. Burst ear drums NOT for the win. My mate had his burst when someone at a party decided to wake him up by putting a guitar amp on full next to his head and strumming a few chords. Unable to hear anything through that ear now and its never gonna return.

i'm ambivalent towards them aslong as someone doesn;t blow one right near me repeatedly over and over

besides it will be too loud to hear them anyway...

That's not true, there'll always be some twat whose only talent in life is being full of enough gas to make sure that no matter how loud the sound system is and no matter where you are in the room you'll be able to hear him constantly blowing his horn along, usually either ahead of or behind the rhythm, sporadically getting the right note just through the fact that it had to happen occasionally over the course of the night.

Heh, exaggerating a bit, but they're not really that exciting, and (like bongos) can really cut through music and annoy the fuck out of you when someone gets overexcited with one...
