ATP ROCKS!!!
I saw Sonic Youth in 2004, then went to ATPv's The Fans where you got to choose half the line up, Portishead on and the Explosions in the SKy on. Its great at christmas Aphex played two nights and BLEW ME AWAY!!!!

Its well worth every penny-wern't as keen this year but they have two more in spring.

Realease the bats at holloween is cool as well but is sold out thdown

ATP is probably the only chance I'll get to see Shellac. Hopefully Melvins will invite them.

Out of interest to the people that have been to ATP before at Minehead. I'd be interested to know what the venue is like? Would it be a rave paradise? :)

It would, pretty much. I've not been to Camber Sands in person, but the Minehead Butlins (aka Somerwest World) looks favourable. It is pretty nice and facilites are good. The big central stage would be absolutely sick as fuck as a rave venue. I think SWW is a lot bigger than Camber though. It's bloody expensive if you don't go for self-catering (around £10 a pub meal or £5 a hotdog or there's KFC  on site) but you can always leave the site and wander across the road into the town if you just want to get a takeaway. There's a massive Tesco 2 mins walk away too, for those last-minute provisions or early-morning munchies.

I'll let you know - I know someone who was interested, not sure if she'd be willing to share as I suspect it'll be one room with two beds :D

yerrrrrr, looks like I'm gonna make this one. The final festival of 08.

Even tough I don't know half of line up, but still very looking forward, my friends went to ATP festivals before and they recomanded it, cause they had a blast.

Probably it will be great festival relaxed atmosphere, descovering new artist and obviously enjoying some favorites, especially the squarepusher :)

Patton should really get the bungle boys back together!!!!

That just about sums up ATP for me. Don't think anyone is there for more than a handful of the names. Last year a friend of mine knew the whole Sunday lineup, but the other two who came with us and I only knew about 3 or 4 names each off the whole bill. Still had a blinding time. The best thing for me was being able to sit at the back of the smaller rooms chilling out with beer for a few hours and just watch whoever was on at the time.

Looks like the set times are quite favourable as far as I'm concerned. Won't miss anyone I desperately want to see. Friday is looking utterly amazing with Os Mutantes finishing everything off.

Must catch Monotonix as well, apparently they're pretty insane.

I only saw The Locust and Zu on the Friday, but I was in gigs all Saturday 3pm-3am, then Sunday I only saw a handful of bands (Leila, Fantomas, Buttholes) cos I couldn't be bothered going back for The Damned nor waiting up another 3 hours just to see Squarepusher all over again.

There were a handful of amazing sets (Locust, Zu, Leila, but I'll think of more) in amongst that lot, but I do regret not catching Os Mutantes (I was shattered by midnight on Friday), Fennesz (who sounded fucking incredible coming through the floor) and Mugison (whose blurb sounded brilliant). Also I wish I hadn't bothered with Manorexia as it was rubbish. I suspect they wanted Foetus but owed Jim a big favour.

Not only that, but TWICE

I opted for Isis instead of Zu. It was no contest for me, really, Isis fanboy as I am. But I did hear Zu were completely amazing and one of the highlights.

Os Mutantes were one of the most joyous experiences of my life. I spent 90mins dancing like an utter cunt. Patton watched from the wings. I'll have to get some more of their records I think.

I didn't bother with the second Fantomas/Buttholes double bill, but I wish I'd seen the 2nd Mastodon for the collaborative version of 'The Bit' with the Melvs. Dalek were great, Monotonix were absolutely hilarious, did you catch them?

I posted a big review here if anyone feels so inclined: http://arguewithsilence.blogspot.com. No pics though, my camera got fucked, annoyingly.
