Alternatives to Glade

There is no alternative to glade. All forms of electronic music were represented.... None of the others come even close!

Although glade was primarily a dance festival there used to be a degree of variety for instance Femi Kuti, Iration steppers, cassetteboy and beardyman to name but a few

I quite like Femi Kuti so was very surprised - and pleased - when he was unexpectedly booked for the Glade. I have no recall of the Irration Steppas ever playing though - gutted i missed them - when did they play?

They played at least twice. I remember them playing 2007 cos half way through the set I realised I had buried myself in mud due to stepping!
They also played in 2008 cos we managed to blag some free tickets from the man himself!
He's playing boomtown so gonna see if we can get some more freebies!
Looking forward to The Wurzles and Toots at Boomtown!

Eastern Electrics are at Knebworth this year, with a decent underground house / techno lineup over 3 days. Hopefully not too commercial a venture given the line-up they have assembled. Looks pretty ace actually.

Obviously not a replacement for Glade. I don't think anything could replace Glade. But some things must be able to come close in their respective genres....

Mmm festival line ups that avoid bass music? time to party on with a bunch of straight laced C2s methinks, that's the target market.

I'm just being cynical, I've seen a few too many comments from people who you could pigeon hole into that social group where they moan about sharing events with chavy DnB fans who are "edgy" or who give "attitude" and the Xstatic Festival was set up as a no bass music festival for those lovely lovely people.
