The above is the court case filed by Luis Sancho and Walter L. Wagner against the US Department of Energy, Fermilab, CERN, National Science Foundation and Doe Entities 1-100.

In effect they're suing to stop the end of the world. :haha:

Here's a bit more background info: http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/ ... 23924.aspx

It seems they're not religious nutjobs, which I thought they might be, they're basically health and safety officials who can therefore FUCK OFF. ;)

Right, i am going to sue Bedfordshire council incase i ever fall down a really big pothole and end up paralysed. Better to be safe than sorry!!

You'll need to be quick then - Bedfordshire ceases to exist next April!

More nutters thinking next Wednesday is the end of the world. Scientists have been receiving death threats apparently.

I like the no-nonsense quote from Prof Brian Cox of Manchester University: "Anyone who thinks the LHC will destroy the world is a t---." :D

I like the fact Prof Brian Cox is trying to build up a bad boy of science reputation. I think he's on a one man crusade to make science cool again. Remember Brian swearing's like a dyslexic dwarf...

He is cool. And so is science. Science need a good representative, and he is definitely the man for it, swearing not required though.

The thought that everything will be sucked into oblivion on Wednesday amuses me slightly.

I'm going to pre-empt this event by ticking off as many Filthbook boxes as possible. I still need to:
- have a wank in public
- have sex with an animal
- be anally fisted

The first two would probably get you sectioned under the mental health act, not all bad though as you get free drugs, but conversation will probably be lacking.

Lets hope they actually advance science's understanding with this thing, be a shocking waste if not.
Jesus, did I say that? Or just think it? Was I talking? Did they hear me?

This is why we need to get it at least postponed until after the weekend as you could achieve all three with very little effort at BANGFACE on friday. The Wank in public is not even frowned upon by the regular Bangers, you're more likely to get dirty looks for smoking in the club!

Erm, I think you'll find the LHC is in Europe, Sarah (just under the French-Swiss border). Still a long way from where you are right now though, admittedly...

Location is irrelevant, the black holes are going to suck in matter at such a massive rate that they create their own gravity field and the entire planet will be drawn rapidly into inexorable oblivion. From there, the real question is whether it'll be big enough to attract The Moon. If it is, who knows where it will lead as the asteroid belt gets pulled closer and closer! :o
