cheers internet people, you're a great helpful lot you are

now im just puzzled as to how shit it really was, 'cos some people said it was good. altho from what most are saying yeah it sounded awful, odd though 'cos when i went to an antiworld event it was extreme-ly fun, but i spose that was at a proper venue.. but yeah, nice 1 :P

We went and had a great time - the psytrance stage outdoors was really good. The rest of the festival left something to be desired but it was no where near as bad as a lot of people on the net made out.

Unless you were one of the unfortunate few who worked there all weekend and didnt get paid.

But eveybody makes mistakes etc. including the wrist band people who gave us access all areas back stage passes instead of normal punter wristbands which came in handy for us as it made getting around the site much easier haha.

Anyway it was sunny and dry all weekend and we had a fabulous time even if a lot of the advertised DJ's and such didnt show due apparently to the dire financial situation of the whole thing. Oh and it all got shut down on sunday lunch time which was a bit shit but tbh we were feeling pretty partied out by then anyway so we went round to visit my brother who lives about 2 miles from the site.

If you like psytrance it was a great weekend and we would probably go to 080808 if it happens.

It really was a complete waste of money. Unlike others I didn't go for the psytrance but the amazing lineup of non psytrance DJ's. Only one of the 15 or so I wanted to see actually came and played. The site looked awful and the camping was cramped, I hated the weekend and hope it doesnt get to go again, there were so many disappointed punters! The organisers were so rude to us all when we complained, to the point where I would never attend another antiworld party again.

Agree 100% (apart from the camping which was fine!)

They took the piss basically! Their line up was amazing (probably one the greatest line ups you'll ever see) but obviously didn't sell enough tickets to finance the event. There was probably only about 1500 - 2000 paying punters there. When acts got wind of this and found out by word of mouth that they weren't going to get paid allot decided not to turn up. Other acts just played as soon as they arrived and then left. The organisation was truly awful.

The only reason the psy trance stage was organised and ran to time would have been that those acts probably did get paid.

I did have a good time, as anyone would in a sunny field for 3 days but the final straw came on the Sunday when the Acid techno tent was just getting going at about 2pm and they called the whole festival off! That tent was the main reason I went and as such I was very annoyed!

The attitude of the main promoters stunk and they treated the other staff and organisers like shit (dont really want to go into too much detail but many of the smaller promoters who they had worked with from around the country were shafted by the antics of Enrico(the main guy behind Antiworld)).

I would definitely never go to any of their event again!

p.s. I will be running a seminar on all of the above in the Vapour stage on Saturday night! :panic:

My mate saw mixmaster mike and said there were only about 5 other people in the tent at the time :O

I have to say I quite enjoyed reading the fallout on the festival forums so at least I got some peverse pleasure from Enrico shafting the punters performers and promoters.

But he never played in a tent, he played one of the little open stages to the right of the psytrance stage - his face told the story though :x Probably about 100 people watching at any one time and i'm sure most didn't have a clue who he was.

I did really enjoy antiworld...although the best night was the thursday when we went into the workers camping area and danced around in an open shed to hard techno :D.
Weather was awesome and the psy on the saturday was perfect for it. Yes it was very quiet, yes it was very disorganised (they had to ask people to work extra hours, then never paid them. And yes sunday stopped early - i missed my family groove tent grrrrs. But i did enjoy it and the people there were great so i think it was worth the money. I just wish it had gone to a more deserving promoter.

Yup!

04:00 Saturday morning outside the Vapour tent. Can you organise some seating, a white board and refreshments?
