Anyone going to the 7th Sun Festival?

Postby Skydrop » 06 Aug 2007, 22:34

Like the subject suggests, is anyone going to the 7th Sun Festival this weekend near Tewksbury, Gloucestershire?

It's all been aranged in the last 24 hours for me and 3 others - not the festival that is, just us lot going (and sadly I beleive they've sold out this evening). I'm still not 100% myself, need real money before I commit entirely to it but I have a ticket courtesy of Visa. Apparently it's only 500 people, Glade 2007 was the smallest festival I've been to so this should be even more different. And yes, Tewksbury is the area that's just had the most flooding in so many years so I'm also wondering if anyone has any more information regarding the event and area and getting to/from it? The festival site states it's still on and not affected by the flooding, I think I'll send an email to the ticket email tomorrow to check this, considering the surounding area is pretty much designated a disaster area.

No one was interested then? For the record it was brilliant! Had a wicked, wicked time. Met loads of really nice people and danced the night away. Seemed far less than 500. There were a few sound systems that some will know from free parties, armada, malnutrition, smokescreen and double vision.

Hats off to Trish and the rest of the crew, really well organised event.. one of my best festivals yet! As the lady herself said, it prooves that you don't need a massive corporate budget and big names to make an event really special.

I'll be banging on about it before the event next year if they do it again, hope to see a few of you there!

Sounds like you had a fab time. :wackyhat:

I'd like to go to at least one dry festival this year. Is that too much to ask?

Yes - even in Hungary where there's been a 40degree heat wave for 2 months we had bigger than Glade storms every night. Phat.

While I was there I felt a bit guilt that I hadn't been online and let anyone on this site know about it (I didn't know skydrop had posted info)... but I didn't really want to big up a festival that I hadn't actually been to. The minute I hear that it's on next year, I'll be on here rallying the troops. :)
