what a fucking AMAZING night. its in the top three favourite bangfaces of mine ;)

The atmosphere was electric, good to see such a mix of people, UK Apatche had the dancefloor hyped up front to back, could see happy faces right at the back by the TV's!

Wisp was amazing - and a lovely guy too. His set blew my mind! Me and a lovely belgian girl was telling him about UK audiences - and to push his set as far or hard as he liked. People at bangface will LOVE IT! With each track he dropped, I thought it couldn't get any better - until the next one. If you liked his stuff, he's got two vinyls out, an E.P. and an album - from what i remember, his album is not out quite yet but is coming soon and is a mega 3X VINYL PACK! So keep your eyes peeled...Also the bagpipe tune he played (i saw maaany happy faces when it dropped) is, im sure, on one of the vinyls, or a cd - so hunt it out for repeat spine chills ;)

But pipped to the post of best set of the night, Gromov killed it for me. I asked him what he mixed, to which he replied "fast breakcore." After a quick breather, i returned to the main room to hear the most amazing and intense breakcore set I've heard since i was in belgium. Hi Fucking Five. Relentless carnage, heavy drums and liberal gabber kicks ensured i spent most of his set dancing like a spazz on stage and not taking many pictures!

The main room was so good that i barely left it - the music built well throughout the night, with droon sending me into moshpit overdrive, and the perfect ending to each and every bangface, a lovely and well selected set from Saint Acid.

YOUR ALL LEGENDS! See you TWICE next month for more carnage and mash pit action

Wicked night as per usual, cheers Bangface! :)

Personal highlights for me where: Wisp (Some really nice tracks), Gibbo and BertBangaTrak (Pure jokes and filthy Gabba), St Acid (Heavy DnB Selection and slick mixing) and of course UK Apache.. He proper tore it up, totally smashed it on the mic.. Loved it! :)

The bagpipe track is 'Beadumaegen' from his 'Honor Beats' album, which was released on the sadly-defunct Sublight label, soit may prove difficult to get hold of now, but that's a hell of a track and its appearance along with the mighty 'Green Hill Path' (which is on Terminal Dusk's brillian compilation 'Crimson') were my highlights not just of his set, but the whole night.

I think I'm starting to feel my age, as I actually went and had a bit of a sit down after finding myself in a mashpit pileup during Ceephax. That said, after I'd got a beer and sat down, it was about 5 minutes before I found myself prancing about in one of the cages.
I've got feelings of anxiety, me.

Incidentally, that was me that picked you up, I think! It was like some sort of backdraft in the mosh pit and suddenly, you and my mate Kev were thrown clear! Amazing...

Absolutely immense night, save for UK Apache LIP-SYNCING some of his tracks! I was so embarassed by him I had to nip out for a fag and come back for Ben Sims (legend). Wisp was killer, as was Ceephax and the rest... I saw many people totally not getting Cassette boy, quite amusing. Big respect to the Pontins Hard Crew t-shirt lot. Trippy specs they gave me proper spanked my brain! :wackyhat:

Hey Apache wasn't lip-syncing! I was standing next to him most of the time and we had a sound engineer monitoring his mic the whole set :D Maybe one of his crew getting carried away?!

apatchewasnt lip synching, i wasnext to him for most of the set, there was sometimes other crew members singing along and IIRC a few tracks where the origional with his mcing was played on the decks while apache mc'ed live over the top - this iswhat i gathered anyways. it sounded a bit confusing because the mids were turned down a little on the vinyl so you couldnt hear the lyrics as much and insteadcould hear the live lyrics more.

Just checked out the recorded set and the mic channel is live all the time

Yeah, it was a shame that some people didn't appreciate Cassetteboy... there was one particularly vocal group, too!I love Cassetteboy, but I guess if you've only turned up to get twisted to hardcore, then it's probably a bit of a shock.

We stuck Fly Me To New York on when we got in!

Ah, thanks for that, dude. It was actually a pretty soft landing as we seemed to fall over really slowly (one of those things where you think you can keep your feet, but the momentum just gets the better of you), the only thing I could think of was that my arse was now on the infamous Elektrowerkz floor - surely a fate worse than most pit injuries! Fortunately, I pretty much just have that knackered pair of jeans set aside solely for BF, so it doesn't really matter what happens to them!

That happens quite often at less cool venues - but you'd have thought a BF audience would be more clued up about what Cassetteboy is all about.
