BLOC 2008

Postby imitationleather » 19 Sep 2007, 12:41

Hooray for the first festival of 2008!

http://www.blocweekend.com

The new site is up and tickets are on sale. No word on the line-up yet, but that hasn't stopped me getting excited. Bloc this year was a blinder.

Anyone else thinking of going along to this?

Tickets £110?

Thought they were way cheaper this time last year?

I'm not sure there's enough money floating around to keep putting up prices at this rate. A lot of people are starting to feel the pinch now - and this will be increasingly so over the next year. I foresee a few festivals coming a cropper.
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

Can't remember how much it was last time, but next year it runs later on Sunday night and you don't have to pay an extra £20 to stay until Monday (which nearly everyone who went appeared to do).

Actually, I'm not sure it was cheaper this year. boki will hopefully remember how much it was because he booked them.

Ah, I've checked last year's thread now and it was £105, so not much change.

I had some idea that it was £50 for early bird tickets but I must have mixed it up with something else.

You going to go to this and Bang Face at Sea then?

Last year we were able to pay in two instalments - £50 /person to begin with and the remaining £55 at a later date.

Yup, doing both (possibly against my better judgment!) - I just go to festivals instead of having 'proper' holidays.
I've got feelings of anxiety, me.

yo dudes

cheers for kind words, here's a bit of official BLOC hyperbole for you;

soz it's had to go up by a fiver but that's the way things go I'm afraid - in 1901 for instance you could have bought a battleship for eight shillings, five d and a groat. What would you get for that these days? A gobstopper or something I should think.

But you do get sunday night for freeeeeeee !

BLOC is big and bold and bad and BACK

The first lineup confirmations being leaked: BLOC 08 will be hosting 60+ artists, labels and crews including REPHLEX RECORDS [UK] and UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE [DETROIT]

once again,

The galaxy's premier underground electronic indoor jivefest breakdown is coiled up like a muscled panther ready to strike at the world's neck and face one more time.

oh my God,

BLOC is scheduled to take place within the palatial confines of Pontin's Holiday Park on the weekend of the 14-16th March 2008. Any attendees / devotees from 2007 's year zero event will know what to expect - three days of the baddest music on earth over three indoor arenas danced into the ground by two and a half thousand of quite the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

on top of the world,

BLOC takes place near Great Yarmouth, on the east coast of the UK. It is a unique festival because everyone attending is housed in their own holiday apartment for the three days of music. There's nothing like a few creature comforts to enhance the party. And BLOC now features extrabloc: the music will carry on into Sunday night and everyone attending can stay til Monday at no extra charge too.

you knew that we'd be back,

BLOC's website is now online, and more lineup announcements will be being made very, very shortly. Do take a second to visit our 2008 website at http://www.blocweekend.com

Deffinately at this. £120 aint to much to pay Sperge when you get a chalet and bed. Admittedly the chalets decor hasn't changed for 30 years and it's not like that much sleeping is done but it is still an added bonus. Looking forward to a brain killing on Sunday. Not so sure how many days to book off from work this year. Took me the whole week to recover from the last one.
