He released his name because some dick head from the Sun was hounding people about it, however the Independant already announced his name last year in an article without the idiocy of the Sun. Also IF he wins the mercury it would have been nice to see him collect it. He is fucking awesome though, and thats what counts so it doesn't really matter.

I was meaning to buy Untrue for ages, then when i heard it was up for a mercury, i bought it.

Does that make me gay?

I actually really enjoy the album, sounds like a cross between massive attack and wookie... which is a good thing

That was Burrell. Except he wasn't her driver, he was her butler and her... "Rock".

Must admit I'd never heard of Burial either, I'm sooooooooooo out of touch.

I thought this thread was about someone selling tickets to Thatcher's funeral or something.

Archangel and Distant Lights are his only good tunes. The rest of the tracks on either album bore me to tears.

I could give a fuck who Burial is!

I bought the album just out of curiosity about a year ago. I don't see what the fuss is about.
It just sounds like a few broken up garage beats over some pads. What's the big deal?
The only thing that makes it unusual is the vocals, and they're also what make it commercial, I guess.

Burial FTW
Who cares about this guys identity, most Dj's electronic music producers are faceless to me anyway.
Its a good album if you give it a chance. I like to listen to it in full I just find it one of those albums that has to be heard from start to finish to appreciate it fully.

Quite a lot of the stuff on the hyperdub label is pretty good especially if your sick of the "my bass is wobblier than yours" dubstep that is about. Hyperdub seem to have a more dubby sound than most other dubstep, which I really like about them.

If you like Burial check out kode9 & the Spaceapes album Memories of the future if you haven't heard it already its pretty amazing

His music is really enjoyable to listen to and despite it's simplicity, very unique and identifiable.

Who cares who he is or if he's selling out, he's brought GOOD electronic music into the mainstream and for that he should be praised.
