Innit.
And 7", I have a few and I have to say, blutaked onto 12" is the only way I can mix with em pretty much, do I just not have a delicate enough touch? (oh and piano + violin break from elenor rigby = the best thing to mix in evar)

To me a pair of cdj1000's is pretty much the perfect thing to mix off. They are easy to use workhorse cunts, well built, sound crystal clear and have plenty of toys (sorry, "creative tools") The interface isn't emulateing vinyl because tbh I think thats daft, vinyl works like vinyl, digital things work like digital things, what the CDJ1000 does is allow you to do the same sortof things you do with vinyl but easily translated into the digital domain. No other human -> music interface handles plain mixing with digital data better imo.
A cd collection (entirely backup of course, if its nicked then its only cost you the price of a few cdrs) isn't too much hassel to carry around. And then you have cds, a standard format, no need to rely on the infrastructure of laptops etc haveing to be pluged in. I also like being able to search through disks and put them on instead of folders and lists. Plus carrying a laptop around = a bitch, if you're just mixing and not utaliseing the laptop to do proper live stuff theres no point carrying one around.
