Did Dopplereffekt play?

Did they get moved or just not end up playing/turning up? That was about my only disappointment of the weekend, I think!

sorry dude, he didn't.

he was there, and game to play. but during soundcheck it appeared that there was a problem with the hired in synths - they didnt have the extra ram memory which we specified was needed. it's a bit of a fucker, not only because i own every dopplereffekt record in existence and am one of his biggest fans, but because it was made very clear by us that this was needed in the synth... and it wasnt there. so a big fucking technical blip by the hire company....

of course we didnt give up there...the other crew and i spent all night - literally, i didnt have any sleep - looking for 2 sticks of 25 year old RAM for this synth. checking ebay, other synth shops, computer stores, even scoping other synths which take exactly the same ram. kinda impossible to do seeing how we had between 6pm Sat and midday Sunday to sort... nowhere was open - there was a short window between 10am and midday to phone this massive list of companies we had sourced overnight...

as much as i tried phoning shops and hire companies...and we were willing to get a bike or lift from brighton or london... we had to admit defeat... gutted.

i was as disappointed as anyone, but the rest of the acts and atmosphere helped make it up... hopefully you'll get to see him soon anyway
