I found this morn that my mother didn;t even know what the BNP was!

I am actually ashamed of my mothers total lack of knowledge on politics or the world's affairs in general. Must be nice to be in such sheltered & ignorant bliss.

I don't think that is a good enough excuse really... I gave her a very quick 10 minute lecture on politics & such this morn & all I got was 'well I don't really care about politics, the goverment or what's happening in the country with all that...it doesn't really bother or affect me'
I was stunned.

Bear in mind that this has arisen from some squabble within the BNP though. Their opponents have gleefully helped distribute this list once it was released, yes. But then they would, wouldn't they?

I don't doubt that it's a horrible thing to happen to people, I certainly wouldn't like it happening to me. On the other hand there is a site called Redwatch which publishes pictures and details of left-wing activists. The BNP's official position is that they don't endorse Redwatch, as they are keen to distance themselves from the old bootboy image, but you'd have to be a bit naive to think that some of the rank-and-file don't still support things like that. So you won't get too many tears shed for them from the likes of UAF, ANL, Searchlight etc.

Yeah, Jacqui Smith is a bit shit. But there's something about the job of Home Secretary that turns them into wankers. Can you think of a single Home Secretary that you've liked? I can't.

turns out we have two in our postcode (well, the first part of the postcode).

having looked at the map it seems south london, and london generally, doesn't have as many bnp members as one might have feared, although that doesn't mean there aren't lots of people with the same politics who haven't joined up. that said, there's a particular area of south london which has a bit of a concentration- not surprising as it includes the only place i ever saw c18 stickers on lamp posts and whatnot...

i'm not sure about this naming and shaming- it could be a very slippery slope. but, if we are starting down the slippery slope how about a list of people belonging to religious organisations promoting violently anti-gay sentiments? (i suspect this might be a somewhat longer list).
