First Glade, now Ravetalk to go?

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. Now based at a stately home in Norfolk.

Well, the idea of this thread isn't to provide a launchpad for other people's sites, it's about what can be done to keep this one afloat.

I do think Darch's idea has potential though.
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

And lets not forget rambling, inspiring rave-talk threads, they're part of what makes this site special :)

Darchigan's idea of forums for 'Advice, Events, DJs, Producers, Designers, Venues, Event Reviews and so on' is an excellent one.

Any suggestions on how to make it stand out from the dozens of forums that already do all of these?

For me, the USP was always the ties to glade.

Maybe this could be the place on the web where all us ex-gladers grow old together. Swapping stories by the virtual gladtalk camp fire. Reminiscing about the good old days when there was a decent festival in the country that was all about banging electronica.

Then slowly as many of us produce offspring, they can take over the reigns and start posting about the stories their parents used to tell them about Glade!!

Well, there was nothing to stop them posting again. They simply chose not to after they got that message. They were starting multiple nonsense threads, hijacking existing ones etc. If the forum was busier at that time, we could have used more subtle crowd control - but it was just me and occasionally yourself, so it required slightly tougher policing.

fwiw, i had a quick google and found them using the same name and photo (and general persona) trolling the shit out of "women's" sites, like the Cosmo forums. seems to be a hobby. :) they weren't terribly successful there, either. people basically patted them on the heads and said "aw, diddums".
