Fuck Trackitdown (was: GladTalk music store now open)

GladTalk is pleased to announce the opening of its new tunes store (also accessible as “Tunes” on the main menu). :-)

Please use this link whenever you can if you want to buy music downloads, as every tune you buy through our store helps pay for GladTalk’s running costs.

The store is powered by Trackitdown, a DJ specialist store which sells all the hottest releases by breaks, techno, psy-trance, drum & bass, house, electro, trance and hard dance artists.

Prices are generally £1.49 for a top quality 320k mp3 (and no DRM, of course!) and £1.75 for a pure wav file. The likes of iTunes are cheaper (generally 79p a track) but for that you get a crappy 128k file and most of them come with DRM, if you can even find these tracks at all. There’s currently a special offer where you get five tracks for free if you spend over £10 on your first order.

We’re also planning another store run directly from GladTalk for unsigned musicmakers to try and sell their works. Contact me for more details.

There are of course, other good places to buy tunes, see Dave Skywalker's thread on places to buy mp3s. But the GladTalk one is the only one that helps to pay for this board... ;)

Fuck 'em.

They disabled the Gladtalk shop there without even bothering to tell me and haven't even bothered to reply to emails enquiring about it.

They only pay 10p for each track they sell through links to them anyway, out of £1.75 per track.

I'll be taking down the link and we'll have our own shop up there soon instead, one where up-and-coming artists on here can try their hand at selling tunes.

Well, it probably didn't help that not one single person on here bought a tune through it...

But even so, that's no excuse for the non-communication.
