ended up putting my favourites up on facebook

I've started using Facebook as a repository for all my old photos, did a clearout the other week and deleted about 5 years of mobile phone pics from my PC, mostly from afterparties, nights out, etc. so loads of candid shots of people rather than places.

FB is awful if you're trying to find anything specific though, so I also use my Flickr account for the "good shots".

I've got a Photobucket account as well which I think is organised better and easier to use than Flickr, but PB limit the file resolution (unless you pay for the Pro account) so I prefer to use Flickr.

Will check these out when I get home, work have banned access to Facebook

i need to find somewhere to host pics with bigger filesizes than say, 5MB

got some corkers that needed editing, and dont have the space on PC to store resized and full sized ones ( i like the full, RAW images, nice to send to people if they like a pic)

some glade ones came out amazing after editing but cant find somewhere free to host bigsezed ones?

any tips?

I didn't think Flickr had a size limit to be honest? I've seen some huge pics on there. They do have to be JPG though I think. The best thing is that it produces different sizes of smaller pics from your original so people can use them as e.g. desktop pics.

If you go to photos -> my photos -> click on the gallery you want to share -> at the bottem of the page it should say : "Show people this album by sending them this public link:" wuith a link underneath it.

You'll have to link it, the filenames are randomised so I've no idea what the pic is.

And no I don't mind at all! Flickr has a commons licence anyway so I couldn't stop you if I tried

Flickr: a warning, you can only create 3 sets. Which is annoying as I'd already decided it was the best one to use

They do have an offer to get 3 months free if you sign up for Pro ($24.95/yr) before 30 Sept. I've started to realise that to get anything really good on the internet you DO have to pay for it (or put in the dev hours) but as I'm already paying for webspace (and shitloads of it) I think I need a better solution.

Anyone got any ideas for something I can do myself that's not going to require long nights of programming?

EDIT: just found I can install Gallery which is an open source program for my web hosting account with GoDaddy. I'll let you know how it turns out
