Glade 2009 not at Wasing - confirmed

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. Feedback thread.

Apparently the site where the Green man festival is held is meant to be the most beautiful festival location.
But lets keep reasons for going to wales at a minimum.

Crumbs, so it hasn't changed in 15 years!

Have they still not finished building all those quarter-built hotels around the outskirts of Bugibba that were there in 1991?

or have they finished them now, and built a load more concrete frames slightly further out of the town?

I still can't get over how small Rabat was when we came over the hill and saw, well, a temple with some houses around it.

bugibba is now one of the ugliest towns in europe... horrible concrete mess

rabat is lovely. of course it's small, malta is smaller than places like nottingham or norwich, you can't expect a large city in malta.

I know, I was just taken aback that the traditional "capital" was THAT small. It was like harking back to the middle ages, brilliant stuff. The Moors really knew how to build settlements, most are still inhabited now.

i think this is cracking news! will this also mean the police wont be so harsh with it not being TVP? the souths police seem more chilled, i live in falmouth, cornwall, would be wicked to have glade in cornwall! weather is generally alot better here all year!
also i hope they sort the decor out at the origin stage as its become more minimal past few years!
new areas too! :)

I'm guessing it'll be near to the M4, maybe closer to Brizzol, as otherwise it's too expensive to get artists there. Nearby international airport is usually a must for this sort of thing, then again, Glasto manage it. I wonder if Pilton Farm happens to have a spare field about the size of Glade? :D

(as you can tell, I have no idea)

Waveform was near swindon (just off M4) and that had good reviews of the site.

Bloom is not far off the M4 either near Cheltenham, although they definitely had some sound issues this year (and serious weather issues!), the site was very pretty with rolling hills and forests in every direction.

The breaks tent was :D I remember walking past it on sunday afternoon and commenting on HOW FILTHY it looked...literally..haha.

Ok, yeah it was a bit muddy but not majorly and it was easy to walk around and you could sit down - plus during the (saturday?) afternoon it was really nice and sunny, and some weird motorised glider guy was in the sky and people chilling out at the top of the hill...im sure.

And the fog on one of the mornings was wicked too :)

I know it is now, but I thought I read that Rabat used to be the capital (like hundreds of years ago). I was 11 when I went so don't quote me :D

The site nr swindon was pretty good, I went to Offworld and Waveform festival there this year and had a wicked time at both festies and both were wet! The view from the top of the hill is lush and it would be wicked to sit on top of the hill and watch glade happening below!

not many trees tho....but if it means music round the clock then i would be well upfor glade at swindon site!

Don't hold me to this as it's second hand info I read on another site but............."Glade have sorted a new site, which is around a 30 minute drive from the old site. The location of the new site hasn't been disclosed."

I've seen various rumours on the location of the site, most of which just look like idle speculation to me (e.g. Gloucestershire, presumably on the basis that the Glade office was in Tetbury).

It's fun to speculate, though, so keep on guessing. ;)
