Glade 2009?

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. It's 16-19 July 2009, get those dates in your diary.

But that's assuming that their costs were the same as in 2007

Costs are absolutely irrelevant to my points which are simple sums to determine the obvious reductions in revenue.

P&L can't be speculated except by the organisers and they should definitely keep that secret (unless there's a Limited company that runs Glade, as there should be, in which case the accounts will be public knowledge by next year).

I emailed Nick Ladd to see how he was doing today and he says he's in the US about to hit Burning Man (lucky bugger) and then they're having a round of meetings in mid-September to decide what's what re next year.

The mid-September meetings are pretty much the standard routine with the Glade, so there's nothing to be read into any of that. Will keep you all posted when there's news to tell. :)

BM> The discussion was about alleged losses incurred by the Glade. And since, by your own admission, you aren't able to establish profit and loss by those back-of-fag-packet sums alone, why introduce them at all to the discussion?

I didn't (except to clarify in response to someone else, who also thought I did)

Not yet, xkejjer.

Nick and Ans are both back from Burning Man, I know that much. I did have a response from Ans about other stuff, but there's still no news on this as yet. As soon as there's stuff to report, I'll let you know.

I'm told that Glade news is "still being brewed" but they're getting closer.

I think you can take it from there that Glade 2009 will still be happening, but the details have yet to be finalised.

Ummm, yes they will. I seem to get blamed for everything else.

Sorry about Jesus, everyone.

It's never really been in doubt, to be honest.

hahaim sure it will be on - its too much of a good thing to be knocked back - however the solution to their main problem (sound) is not really in their hands, its in the local councils hand :(

they should really considering moving to the waveform site. from what i saw it could easily be extended on both sides to fit a much bigger capacity and they didn't have any sound restrictions.
wasn't quite as beautiful as the glade site but still...
