Glade newb! A few questions...

Postby Tangerine » 17 Jul 2008, 00:42

What postcode or place do I type in on google maps to get an exact direction to glade; i will be driving. Is it hard to find? Is the parking there ok? Is it free? I'd ideally want a print out of directions :) I'm coming from Luton.

Its fine to have lots of alcohol left in the car right? We could venture back there and drink by the car? Just not bring drinks into festival.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, I'm hoping I get a reply before I leave midday tomorrow

Thanks a lot, and roll on glade :)

Party in the car park! :haha:

I think you'll be OK with that.

RG7 4NG will bring you close enough (it's actually the location of the Wasing Estate office, which is on site). It's all signposted from Aldermaston and Thatcham anyway. :)

Only a fiver. And remember there'll be plenty of people waiting at Thatcham station who'll be happy for a lift if you need to make up the numbers. :clever:

Any other tips about anything at all, about where to camp, when to arrive, what to see what to do etc etc. Any big mistakes u made on pervious years? What to avoid, where to avoid, hints tips etc etc!

Oh, is it worth leaving the venue at all? for pub and or decent food? Or is it a mission? Whats the food options like there, pricey?
Drinks 3.50 for a pint yea?

I'm all ears!

Sorry, have to get to bed now, I'm having to drive from a lot further away than Luton!

You'll find these threads useful:

Hahaha all that info's in the forum somewhere, buried under a load of pointless drivel :D

Food's pretty cheap and damn nice, it's all those hippys, not much point leaveing site for anything I'd say. Camping play it by ear but don't camp by the liquid tent if you'r not a fan of psy trance ;) The genral festival rules apply, not to close to bogs etc

Drink's £3 ish off the top of my head possibly a bit more, I dunno, I just drank westons cider from a box last year and plan on doin the same again :)

Innit!

Normally I'd take the trouble to find the answers for you, Tangerine, but I have to be outta here pretty quick and all the questions you've asked have already been answered somewhere on the forum or on our News pages. The search button should help you out here. The links muppet has given you will help for sure.

Good luck and maybe seeya down there!
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

If you have any useless mates who are still dithering about coming to Glade, show them this article: http://www.ravetalk.co.uk/glade-festival-2009.shtml

Last year at antiworld one of my friends whose car had a decent soundsystem spent the whole time partying in the carpark...seemed pretty pointless really, could have been any car park.

However i guess grabbing a few drinks once in a while couldn't hurt (as long as you don't have half hour searches in each time)
