GladTalk Producers?

Postby Dave Skywalker » 04 Jul 2008, 10:44

With the recent release of the B2VOS (http://www.backtotheoldskool.co.uk) sampler CDs in my other thread, I was wondering whether a similar sort of idea would work on here?

How many producers are on this forum, and more importantly how many would consider producing a tune for a GladTalk compilation? Issues of distribution / cost etc aside for a second, would anyone be up for it?

Coming to the issue of distribution, how do people feel about a "free" download type deal to raise the profile of GT, or would people only be prepared to do so if it had a (let's be honest here, probably minimal) financial return?

I'd love to read anyones thoughts on this. Personally, I'd be bang up for it, hence this post! :D
By the time you've read this message it's too late to stop reading it.

Sounds good, and i imagine the variety would be larger over here, as the b2vos is pure hardcore breaks (i might be wrong thinking this...)

I would be up for it provided i ever finish a track!

Sweet idea :)

Free distribution is a much better bet.

I'm up for it. I'll do something a bit less cheesy than usual!

Sounds like a wicked idea, Dave.

You gonna include the BF pool party on one of your compilations? ;)
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

:o

i wanna find it!

ive got a few acapellas, will sort ya out a list once ive finished sorting my computers out. got one for internets and one for producing but they both need organising as they are FULL of stuff thats doubled up between the pcs where i was living in two different places and trying to run the same stuff on both pcs. confusing but it makes sense to me?

ive got a good one on my old favourites list, ill dig it out - you gotta be sneaky and do the old 'record via the onbard mic' trick as some are listen only or pay loads of cash.

i do want more acapellas, at the moment i just cut up old reggae records and mash them but its quite hard getting it to sound good when there is conflict in bass

Hi, I'm up for this, haven't been very active on the board though, but have been lurking around since Bang Face Weekender.

For ragga acapellas try **link deleted**

Hello Din, btw!

Rich

There's some tunes on my myspace but they all need editing down to about half the length, I reckon.

Now we've got a few people on board, how about some people remix each others' stuff? Then we could get a whole album's worth!

I'd be up for this, I should have a link to some of my tunes for you guys to check out/give me feedback on, over the next week.
Would be good to have free download and the option to buy it on CD (for a couple of quid) with artwork and stuff (sure loads of us on here know people that could pull nice artwork together) and a bonus track or two. If anyones got a decentish printer then we could just make the cd's on demand, especially wih a lightscribe cd burner you can engrave the cd itself!
And I like the remix idea to! If we do the sampler as an ep, after 6 months years time or a year or whatever we could release a V2 with mainly the same producer doing remixes of the tracks.
