Global Chavering

The joys of living in a field, sleeping in a cheap tent, braving the Portaloos and not worrying about being squeaky clean for a few days. It's festival time again!

to be fair i stopped going because it's like jumping thru hoops just getting in, with OR without extras  .... i don't like being treated like cattle. but then they made it camping. i wouldnt dream of camping there. let's just say, it's a vague concern leaving your tent unattended at glade... but i would guess it's a major concern to walk away from it at gg.
and whats all this security checks inside! between the camping & the music.. wtf!!! is it not good enough that, once you're on site, you & the general public are safely away from each other, they have to do this? beggars belief it really does.

but back to the chavs: when theyre not being asbo, they are like circus acts! they keep the 1980's craze of BMX alive! never understood that.. a tiny kids bike with no gears... for going to work / community service on. oh deary me.

Anybody been Creamfields? Thought i would give it a whirl this year because it's moved to Cheshire  plus me and my mate have forked out £107 each for the Hospitality tent to see Hooky play a New Order set. No Chavs in there methinks.

GG sounds utterly horrendous if you read all this..... shame cos I like good old fashioned trance and some of the videos on DSI look ace.

i wanted to go a few times.

i went to uproar in mk a couple of times & lets say, some folk of the chav variety, who just happened to be from birkenhead ( - sorry, that's just coincidence) kind of decided it for me. i know you shouldn't stereotype & make decisions like this based on a few people but there are always other options so i made my choice.

I went to it on the Saturday, some photos here if anyone's interested http://www.djpromoter.com/news.html?newsid=34

If you think GG is chavvy then you should try checking out an outdoor dance festival near Glasgow (where I come from) :? We call the wee bastards 'neds' up my way.

It was after you'd gone through the ticket gate and initial security check that the sniffer dogs appeared. I watched some guy bedecked in cyber gear get caught by the sniffer dogs. He obviously thought he'd made it in when suddenly pooch has a subtle sniff around his ankles and 2 drugs cope appear from nowhere in to lead him away, leaving his girlfriend standing. So I guess that was his day ruined before it had even started. Although some might say dressing in cyber gear was deserving enough to be arrested :D

tut tut :o

there might just be some cybers on this board, i would beware, haha.

i think the best trancey festival ive done was when gatecrasher did summer sound system in 2002, just after id finished my gcse's, that was amazing, no hassle, everyone loving the vibe, i lost my bag and it was handed in at the end :)
