So how was BFW for you?

Postby PaulX » 27 Apr 2009, 17:57

Win: Musically and sonically BANG ON.
Perfect weather, great for chillin' on the Sunday morning/afternoon.
Beatmonkey's friends - Phil, Johnny and the delectable Vandra. Oh, and the Rave Camel of course... ;)
"The Irish" - you know who you are. ;)

Fail: I expected the world's biggest glowstick to be at least the height of Nelson's Column. Sort it out, James! :P
Shame about Speed Dealer Moms having technical probs. :(
The beach meet :D I did actually get there (a little bit early thanks to that bloody fire alarm cutting short Saunderson's set) but it was too cold to stay until 6.30. Apparently quite a few ravetalkers turned up at various times - good work, neo-rave generals!

Internetting over a 2g mobile connection at a motorway service station is also a tragic fail. Apparently the M1 is closed up ahead, so it's satnav FTW - see you several hours later... :fear:
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

great weekend. Brilliant atmosphere, fantastic weather, quality people and some great performances.

It was never going to live up to last year but it was still succesfull. Only problems I had though is that I thought the music could of been slightly louder, and a few of the performances werent up to standard, aswell as the banning of the horns.

Alot more chilled out then last year but still pretty crazy.

Thanks to everyone I met from here who made my weekend.

very good weekend,

WINS:

Pool party was ridiculous! shame about the queue to get in...but its was sick when you got in there!
Abusing the text line on the TV
Every single person i met was safe, no bollocks
Most of the music
Having a beer with bizzy b, TDK and remarc :D
General good times

Fails:

The bass bins could have been MUCH louder...listening to a sound engineer in our chalet if it wasnt about image adn the bins were all on the floor it would have been more effective, i dont know though but it was quite loud enough on the bass side.
Normski

all in all a sick weekend i will deffinately be back again, SAFE CHALET 115!!!

Epic win -
DJ Kentaro and Flying Lotus destroyed it. Flying Lotus was just great
Leading a 40 strong group of people into various chalets Sunday night, Swedish hard crew well done for being such good sports!
Playing baseball with our ironing board and a pineapple pissed, most fun ever
The novel idea of putting all our supplies in the teapot and filling it with vodka and Red Bull. Because of that I've still not slept since Saturday :fear:
Good vibes, good people, big up anyone from here I ran into
Beach messiness at sunrise this morning
Security being general good sports
Pool party narration on Bangface TV
Actually getting our deposit back. If you had seen our chalet before the big clean you'd know why

Epic fail -
No Vibert in the pub on Sunday :(
Being too disorganized for pool party, opening ceremony, go karts, inflatable room. Hey ho
The descent back into the real world
Snares wasn't that great this time I thought
...finally the God awful Wimpy I had on the way home which qualifies as one of the worst things I've ever eaten in my life

Nice one hard crew and organisers... can we start a countdown thread for 2010? 607 hard crew!!!!

I thought the volumes were fine except for Enduser which was really annoying, and coulda maybe been a bit louder for hellfish

Was a bit too much dubstep and ghetto tech etc, but some was alright

Was horrendous having to leave on Sunday morning for an exam monday morning but had to be done. Then was informed that we didnt get our deposit back, and all because a drawer from the bedside table went missing and there was a bit of blue facepaint on the floor...
doesnt cost £140 to replace that

still, great weekend though

anyone else not get deposits back?

I quite like dub step and was more than happy to get my groove on to it, that said i went to see most of the dubstep over the weekend.

I did as a result hear eastern jam at least 3 times / saxon twice / larux in for the kill remix by scream twice within the space of a few hours of each other. Dub step hasn't really been around that long so its must be a lot more likely that dj's will play the same tracks as they are the best dub tunes.

I heard a couple of people complaining about the sound by i think mainly they were just fucked,

I spent the most of the weekend with ear plugs in and would have suffered noise fatugue had i not used them. Each night at around 3am i would take the ear plugs out and enjoy the last bit of music fully not letting my ears get fully rinsed so didn;t suffer any ringing at all. During enduser and hellfish i think they just turned the back speakers down a little bit, the room had started to thin out a bit and there was quite a lot of space more towards the front so i just moved down towards where it was louder.
