Centenary - A 7 HOUR mix from my good self

Postby Dave Skywalker » 18 May 2007, 08:56

Mornin' all!

I did this mix last year and posted it on a few forums and it got good feedback. Well I found out the mp3 is still online and I've never posted it here so I thought you might like it.

I decided to push the boat out with this. It's called "Centenary", it's a shade under SEVEN HOURS long and takes you on a journey through over a decade of old skool jungle, ragga, jump up, and drum n bass.

It's a hefty download at around 380Mb, but it's worth it imo! And it was pretty exhausting work, but I always wanted to do something like this, hahaha.

So if you're not doing much, slap this on, roll up a VERY big spliff, and while away the next seven hours..

I have to say, (baring in mind I'm not much of a psy fan) that I really like the first track on this mix.
Its a happy tune, and thats what psycodelic music should be, a spirital fealing posative vibe.
I grew out of psy trance cos of the increasing amount of dark stuff, which I just find mongy and pretensious.

ive done 8 or 9 at a party before but you kinda get bored unless your in your own house and you have access to all your records. i ended up playing every tune on every record i bought to the party with me. the other thing is i didnt realise how fucked i was getting cos all i was doing was concentrating on the decks so as soon as i finished i walked away and fell over cos i was so fucked!!!

excellent!!!

New profile (under construction)

http://www.myspace.com/sonicintifada

Only one full tune (Arrival) which is a fairly obvious remix that I posted on other forums as by my alter-ego "Coriolis", it's a ruff d&b/hardcore thing - the rest is very early-UR influenced techno/breaks. When my sodding exams are over I might get time to finish those tracks & get my website online. Bah.

hehe, cheers dude!

yeah man, love ulrich schnauss. think the first time i heard him was on the way back from a rave, feeling absolutely wasted and listened to "a strangely isolated place" which i'd just got, all i remember was just feeling blown away by how gorgeous it was.

i got a bit overexcited when i heard a dj in the IDSpiral play some of his tunes on the thursday at Glade last year though - as my friends will testify! :D

id love to see schnauss at ID Spiral, i think he'd suit it perfectly. Even main stage early doors :)

Saw him play in London last march, was a great gig, although the acoustics in the venue were crap and didnt really do him justice. Next time...!
