Lots of activity at the Glade site.....

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. It's 16-19 July 2009, get those dates in your diary.

We haven't had a good fencejumper thread this year yet, have we?

as scams go, this is easy to police... just sling out anyone who has started to resemble catweazle as early as the friday morning.

That guy looks like me! I think after 9 days I would become the undergrowth, shame i've already paid for me ticket else I'd certainly up for hiding in the bushes

Hey magneticgrooves you should work on your Uncle some more...... my pictures are just from the hedgerow/gateways..... urs would be seriously cool..... definately keep working on it. I'm quite pally with one of the wasing estate office girls, maybe i could send her a cheeky email to see if she can send me pictures of the site coming together then i could post on here.... of course, they might be too busy to stand around, taking photos when theres glade to organise!

I might try to get some different photos whilst out with the dogs, i often walk through the woods on wasing estate, might have to wander off the regular footpaths though.....

Sperg: Feel free to use photo's as you will, especially if it adds to the excitement. Have a look at what happened to my poor house last year whilst i was partying at Glade...... we have our own septic tank coz of being rural, it couldn't cope with the volume of rain water on that friday so it regurgitated its contents back through the toilet into the lounge, kitchen, bathroom & hall. All the rain water upagainst the patio windows poured in through the door seals.... what a fucking nightmare to have to come back to that.... kinda put a downer on things coz i got the text friday night, spent the next 2 days trying not to dwell on it all.... kinda managed it with a little help from my friends!! & none of us fell over in the mud... hurrah!!!!

I'll try to resist the temptation to say "Oh shit"...

What a thing to come back to indeed, especially after surviving the Glade quagmire. :(

Unfortunately we weren't insured, fortunately we're a relatively minimalist family (not too much shite lying around to get wrecked!) so not too bad on the cost of replacing stuff. the leather sofa's dried out eventually... we're still using them anyway & next door who had insurance donated loads of stuff like tv's coz their insurance said it had to be chucked out. We had 2 dehumidifiers running continuously right through til January '08 and the whole of downstairs has been tiled through, we've just got to get the skirting boards back on & you'd never have known we were so badly flooded...... but you know what? we laugh about it now!
Of course i'm not laughing at today's weather....... when its wet like this u just can't help but worry...

it's gonna be OK I reckon, all the forecasts I've looked at all say the same thing - more settled from Monday. I know you can't rely on them but when different reports all say the same thing it's a bit more encouraging.

The Met Office are saying there are hints of a ridge bringing in more settled weather towards the end of next week. That's the closest we're getting to anything!

I went to the site today and the ground's dry there, dry enough to drive a car over so it's all looking good. :)

Drove past the site today & they've made pretty good progress with getting most of the perimeter fence up..... there's also an orange sign on the verge saying "Gate 2"...... lots more, vehicles, people & stuff..... didn't get any pictures due to the torrential downpour but did slow down loads & have a good look!

wicked, wicked, wicked..... so can't wait

i was working at RAF Brize norton today, and we had very heavy torrential downpours (even lightning!). Also, ive just heard that the RAF Fairford air tattoo has been cancelled tomorrow due to the weather, im not suprised! Not good.

I love england, but i hate our climate.

i promise to take some more photo's tomorrow...... i did hike all round Wasing woods this morning with camera in pocket looking for a different view of the site.... i was hoping to see the main site rather than just the car park & workforce stuff! There were 2 difficulties 1) it proper rained on me & i was without a mac or brolly and 2) after getting a bit lost I got really spooked... sounds stooopid i know but i pretty much ran out of there scared shitless..... must've been the thought of meeting Catweasle that scared me!!!!

No it's not faint praise, I drove around the site very easily in a brand new hire car that I didn't want to damage without churning up any ground. There was a heavy shower whilst I was there but it was windy so everything dries up quickly and the grass was dry enough to sit on.

On the pics front there wasn't much to see, apart from the Pussy Parlure none of the stages are up yet. It's just a big field with some portacabins in but come Monday when I go back there should be more to see.

I'll take some pics then if I get a chance.
