Matter on friday night was simply stunning.

Ive been attending bedrock clubnights in London (heaven) and Birmingham (Code as it was back then) for the past 6 years, and this party truly was something awesome.

John Digweed is my fabourite DJ, and he treated us to a 9 hour set of stunning music, including loads of classics (some spotted so far)

Steiger - Postcards (ambient mix)
Fortunata & Montressor - Imagine
Bedrock - Forge
Apollo 440 - Liquid Cool
Banco de Gaia - Last train to Lhasa
Killer Loop - Blue Hour (Communicate Baby)
Trancesetters - Roaches
Leftfield - Song Of Life
Major North - Annihilate
PoPoF – ‘Lost Though’
The Timewriter - Flicking Pages
Faze action - in the trees (carl craig c2 remix)
M.a.n.d.y. - No Stoppin Love
Ladytron - destroy everything you touch (invol2ver remix)
Apparat - Arcadia (invol2ver Remix)
Chemical Brothers - Do it Again
Depeche Mode - Only when I Lose Myself (Lexicon Avenue mix)
Bjork - Kindness Kind (Delikate Imposters remix)
Thomas Schumacher - Mad Robot
Peter Dundov - Oasis
Superpitcher - Happiness (Michael Mayer Remix)
Jark Prongo - Shake It
Lawrence - Along the Wire (Superpitcher remix)
Sven Vath - Barbarella (Deep Dish mix)
Moby - Southside (Pete Heller Mix)
Guy J - Mirko
DJ Ralph & Jo - Backdraft
Billie Ray Martin - Je Regrette Everything (Superpitcher Remix)
Antena - Camino Del Sol
System 7 - spacebird (Dubfire unreleased mix)
Killer Loop - that was it
Audion - Mouth to Mouth
Britney Spears - Breathe on me (James Holden remix)
Minilogue - Space (Roland M Dill mix)
Rocco - Roots For Acid
Planet Funk - Inside All The People (Harvery's Ibiza Sleepy Mix)
Bedrock – Heaven Scent (M.O.D.E. Remix)
On Spec - Knights of Columbus (Jamie Stevens mix)

The soundsystem in the club is out of this world, perfectly clear yet loud, but not overly loud like some places. The bass pistons under the wooden floor felt awesome when cranked up for the last couple of hours.

The club was full, but not rammed, so there was room to dance.
The air conditioning worked (heaven, please take note and sort it out)
The bar prices were reasonable (considering its london)
The crowd were all there to support the bedrock night.

In short, a perfect night out, and i hope matter continues to attract big crowds and proper good promoters as london needs a club like that.

Wobbling out of the millenium dome at 7am and seeing the sun come up over the thames was a special moment too :D

i'd have to disagree there...

it does sound ok with DJs playing but as soon as you get bands on, if you don't have earplugs in you're going to damage your hearing.

the reflections in there are hideous, which is unsurprising considering everything in there is concrete. the floor is good fun thou

In that case i wont be going to see any bands there then :)

Mr Digweed was working the system well - he had the basslines rolling in from different directions of the room, and the floor pistons were shaking my knees :D

To be honest i thought the projections needed to be more obvious.

I knew they were there because im a geek and i had read up about them beforehand :P But for the general munted clubbers they probably didnt seem that special in amongst all the lights and smoke....

That aside, the video wall things looked awesome, and the projections littered about the walls and ceilings looked really good if you knew where to look for them.

My only real gripe with the main room (and this was also said by many others who attended the event) was the main room was too light. Too many people with laptops stood behind the main dj with bright glaring monitor screens, too much light coming from level 2 / 3 above, and for a proper 'rave' feel it needs to be darker...

pretty awesome club though :)

yeah, definitely agree about the DJ getting lost with all the other people in the control box, and it being a bit too bright in there
