Music tastes linked to personality

Apprently as dance music fans we are creative, outgoing and not gentle. However I wouldn't catagorise myself (or anyone else into glade style dance music) as a typical dance music fan.

The funniest is whats said about indie fans though: Low self-esteem, creative, not hard working, not gentle. Sounds bang on apart from the creative bit.

"Music tastes linked to personality"

This comes under the category of what I would call "No shit, Sherlock?" studies. ;)

What are you defining as "Glade-style dance music"? If you're talking about people who spend most of the time in the Overkill tent, then yes. And the psy-trancers have a very distinctive scene too.

But I reckon quite a few people who hang out mainly in the main dance tent, Sancho Panza, Breaksday or Vapor could quite easily blend in at most dance music events - and good for them.
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

If you have any useless mates who are still dithering about coming to Glade, show them this article: http://www.ravetalk.co.uk/glade-festival-2009.shtml

heavy metal aficionados were gentle and at ease with themselves
One of the most surprising things is the similarities between fans of classical music and heavy metal. They're both creative and at ease but not outgoing.

I could have told you that. Wagner is almost entirely to blame for black metal and most of the best 80s rock guitarists were classically trained. Yngwie Malmsteen and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) are two perfect examples of this.

The general public has held a stereotype of heavy metal fans being suicidally depressed and of being a danger to themselves and society in general. But they are quite delicate things.

What the hell is Tipper Gore going to do now?!?! :D
