I'm new to Glade.

Hi, I'm going to Glade this year for the first time.
First things first, I'm 16.......do i fall at the first hurdle?
I'm just wandering what the hell is going on with the age thing.
Do I need to be 18 to get in or not.
I mean I think I look older but I would like to know the strictness about the whole shabang.
Also I'm a bit worried that I'm gunna be thrown into a cycle of twatty ravers who hate anyone that didn't see Underworld at their prime. Is this true? I'm probably just being pedantic though
If anyone could just give me a friendly nudge in the direction of what Glade is like that would be much appreciated.

Welcome, columns.

I'm afraid the terms of Glade's licence are very strict on this and they will do ID checks on anyone who looks under 21. We can't condone under-age people trying to get in as we want Glade to keep its licence. If you do try it, it's entirely at your own risk.

Apart from that, stick around and tell us more about yourself in Introduce yourself. Two years won't take that long to pass, honestly.

I see Well thats a huge ol' kick in the nads! I think it's a bloody shame that people my age aren't allowed to enjoy such a great festival as The Glade.

The same reason why minors are not allowed into pubs and clubs... its the law!

If teenagers were allowed into Glade (and other festivals) it would mean that a whole lot more policing would have to go on, and (correct me if im wrong) the organisers would need a different license. Its just easier ID everyone at the door and have the whole process over with so they can concentrate on policing other aspects like security without having to worry about booze. Its probably an insurance aspect too.

I know it sucks dude, but there are other festivals that you can attend. And great things come to those who wait

Because I for one am not.
But I do love Breaks, Gabba and Dub-step and i want to be able to appreciate it live.

That implies that I would need mummy to go with me then!
I really wish that there was more clear guidelines about Glade, they don't really have any on their site.
They don't even talk about the age limit on there!
I might risk it but then again it is a big risk and I could end up a fair bit of money out of pocket and with a spare unused Glade ticket.
Well at least I would've got to seen the gates.

What part of "no under-18s" isn't clear enough for you?

OK, being less harsh, they do allow parents to bring children up to 14 years old, but they expect them to be accompanied and they don't really recommend the festival as suitable for young children anyway.

The point is that as a 16-year-old, you're definitely not allowed in.

And yeah, we know, it's sooooooooooooo unfair!
