Who should play Glade 2009?

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. It's 16-19 July 2009, get those dates in your diary.

Dear Saints Nick and Ans,

I'll be a (mostly) good boy all year and for next Glade I would like:

Underworld (if you must have a big budget name to help sell tickets, this will be a less controversial choice than Pendulum)
The Crystal Method
Breakfastaz
Ceephax
Scotch Egg
Phil Hartnoll doing an Orbital set like the one he did at Bangface Weekender (even better if you can get his brother to come along ;))
Liam Howlett and/or Leeroy DJ sets
Juno Reactor
Kevin Saunderson
A Guy Called Gerald

And for the closing main stage set, I'd like to see Moby doing the following. Some people on here say the word "rave" conjures up images of chavs avin' it large in I-beef-ah. Well, this is what it conjures up for me...

"Yeah, check this next track aht, you got Asterix 'n Space. Watch yer bass bins, I'm tellin' ya"

well no, i think what people mean by chavs being drawn in by the word rave is that they have the skewed view that this is rave:

you'll last about 5 seconds on that

I feel I should make a public apology for this (?)

Didn't really see the rave connection on that (I lasted about 10 seconds on that video though). But I'm sure any wrong uns would quickly get scared off the board once you're unleashed on them anyway... :fear:

...jumping all over, all over the world

(yobbo chant) JUMPING! ALL OVER THE WORLD!

...

yeah, jumpstyle was one of the 'in' jokes at glade. im actually learning it becuase next year we want to do two things at the outdoor stages at glade e.g. origin.

1. turn up en masse and jumpstyle to psytrance. it would be funny but ONLY if theres a dustcloud. im gonna do pics/vids and become a super shit hot jumpstyle video producer, then work for scooter and SHIT ON HIS FACE

2. have a bangface night...at origin. banners, horns, whistles, mash pits. peopel would love it. would also love to do this to the glade stage if its outdoors ;)

Erm, no they won't. If you're seriously suggesting an invasion of the Origin stage to wind up the hippies for a larf, that's a bit of a Hooray Henry rugger-bugger mentality to be honest and possibly a recipe for the first inter-genre fights at Glade and maybe the end of Bang Face or even Overkill at Glade.

Your point being that the board shouldn't have 'rave' in its title because it might attract people who have nothing to do with rave? Erm, O-kaaaaaaaaaaaay, I think I can live with that possibility.

(and relax)

if you watched TV (yes we all know you dont), then you would have seen the fucking adverts with atrocious screamy high pitched crap with RAVE in big bold letters across the screen, and might understand

Actually, the Wikipedia articles on rave and rave culture already point to this board and we get quite a few incoming clicks from them each day. There is also a fairly high number of incoming clicks to here from the existing Ravetalk archives. So where is this chav invasion of which you speak?

look, im just explaining what people meant because from the above, it was clear you did not quite understand what people's concerns were - im sure those people with those concerns are like you and actually know what rave is.

I personally will settle for anything, because in the end its not what its called its what the forum is like that will attract/repel people. Obviously though it has to be something catchy and easy to get people's attention.

Anyway, back on topic...

UNKLE (again because I missed them last year)
Prodigy (unlikely but it'd be awesome, i dont know if they'd be better in a club tho - i dunno, i just never had a chance to see em)
