Nice security

The following is an email that was sent to the organisers to thank them for the helpful security this year:

Dear Sir,
thank you for your-mail. I did lose some
money and a cash card and thanks to the viligence of your
security staff, it was returned to me whilst at the festival
(It was held at the gate untill i realised i had lost it!).
I intended to e-mail you to thank you for their very good
work, but as i had to rush back to work on the Monday, i
kind of forgot. sorry. I don't know if you have any
contact with the security staff, so am not sure if you will
be able to pass on any thank you's, but I would like to
say that it was just another example of how well organised
Glade is and how fantastic the staff are in and outside the
site. I will cross Heaven and Hell to return next year!

thank you very much from all of the Pompey Pirates!

Shows how much they've improved since the horror days of 2006: http://www.ravetalk.co.uk/archive/heavy ... t1477.html

Some of the searches this year were a bit OTT to say the least, but at least there wasn't any of the thuggery that went on a couple of years ago.
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

If you have any useless mates who are still dithering about coming to Glade, show them this article: http://www.ravetalk.co.uk/glade-festival-2009.shtml

If they don't try to strip-search you, it's fine by me. Although taking EVERYTHING out of your bag is a bit much, it does mean they can check for big stashes of contraband, and that's what they SHOULD be looking for.

Aye, think it's fair enough to be heavily searched on entry - it's an inconvenience, but if it means that security on the inside can concentrate on making people feel secure and act on reports as opposed to being overzealous idiot thugs then I'm more than happy about that. found all the rozzers on the inside pretty happy jolly types too. though it must be a fairly easy job for the weekend!

I wasnt searched at all last year, which I thought was strange, but I did see people getting their entire bags emptied out onto tables, which looked so tireing and long. But they know what the atmosphere is like, and so the assume the worst of us all.

Still a pain in the arse though...

yea i got this, literally everything, my socks, my phone taken apart etc etc
which ok i didnt mind, as you said they were doing there job
but what i didnt like is when he had finished everything getting shoved back into my bag & being told to hurry up
& all the way through the search being told mate i dont know what youve taken but you looked fucked, im not gonna do anything but well....
he said this a good 4 times & i hadnt even had a drink :fear:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow, what a ride."
