When the hell did Panacea play? If the answer isn't "he didn't" then I will be very upset as he was the only artist I wanted to see all weekend.

I don't think he even came into the country - I'm pretty sure I remember Ned explaining (there's a big post elsewhere here and also on the Overkill Myspace page) that he'd advised him not to come over when it looked like the tent wouldn't be happening at all. He is, however, doing the next Bang Face if you fancy popping down the smoke for it.

That'll be this post

According to Ned, only 7 out of 50 Overkill artists didn't play:

artists that didnt play:
Luke Vibert - he was almost out the door, then we had to cancel friday, so he cancelled the hire car etc & didnt come - fair enough! Ragga Twins played with their own DJ who came at the last minute.
Assault - i'd flown him over from USA, but told him to stay in London when the shit was hitting the fan.
Luke's Anger / Michael Forshaw / Mode48 / Andrea Parker / voltexile - came to Glade but the Overkill tent was cancelled during when they were supposed to play
Mike Dred (aka Universal Indicator) - couldnt make cos of the flooding .. he was on the road for around 12 hours trying to get there!
Everyone else made it and Played.. 7 acts out of 5o ish total .. that aint bad eh!

So by the looks of it Panacea did play...

Ah right, I think i must've been thinking of Assault being advised to stay in London, then.

i've put up a blog on the Overkill myspce with some pics > http://www.myspace.com/nedoverkill

there are 2 more things i wanted to add!
1) there should deffo be a glade campaign (from the punters) to get these bullshit sound restrictions removed. Im going to ask teh main glade cheifs if it would help to have 5000 people send letters to the local council saying they want glade to happen at 105 db so it can be fully enjoyed!..

2) i just wanted to reinforce how amazing it was to see all the people in the overkill tent when we got it going, what an awsome open minded crowd going off to an ace mix up of music.. the vibe was great. and to those people who helped spread the straw on saturday to get the tent open in time for Beardyman, double thanks!

I've been googling around and it seems there's a few people who still don't know the reasons why the Overkill had sound problems last year, so I've written an article on the editorial pages of the site to make the facts a bit easier to find rather than having to wade through this thread.

If you see anyone posting about Overkill's sound issues, make sure you post a link to the article. :)
