Overkill

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. It's 16-19 July 2009, get those dates in your diary.

i guess we won't find any truth to this but if its true then what the fuck, that was the biggest crowd for the overkill & i even heard security were turning people away at some points.
i was in mid centre & it was quite spacious around me though, enough for mad raving anyway.
was it well & truly packed everywhere else then?

for the people loving the Rossz Csillag Alatt Született stuff, he dropped Második Galamb into the mix on the thursday which was insane, i wonder if this would of been to come.....

Yeah, we tried to go in and were refused for about 5 minutes by the bouncers. There was a lot of flow (of people) around the edges though so they managed to let us in pretty quick, it did look ridiculously rammed in there though but i guess the density varies a lot depending where you are..at the edges it was stupidly packed!

Well, I just wanted to say that having come all the way from Brisbane in Australia for the Glade festival, it was quite possibly one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed, I went there to try and experience the vibe of a real festival (you just dont get it down here) and I think I happened upon the best example of the festival atmosphere that you could ever hope for. Despite the adverse conditions I couldnt believe how nice and accomodating everyone was! even the event organisers! If you go to our only 2 day festival here you get kicked out of the carpark at midnight and told to comeback in the morning, and theres only 3000 camping tickets for 14,000 people, but at Glade no matter the mud and the rivers everyone actually acted like they wanted us to be there! Overkill was the highlight of the whole thing for me, I just wish I knew for the most part who i was enjoying so much, anyone who has a problem with what the festival was like should try it down in Aus, not only is the sound shit but the security is worse - at least you didnt have sniffer dogs up your arse trying to get in, and all the bands I'd never heard of were still ten times better than what Ive ever seen in australia!
But I'm not here to bitch, Just wanted to say Glade was the time of my life and I'm already saving for the trip again next year. And watching the incredible feat that it was to get this years festival off the ground I've been inspired to get off my arse and try and work in music event management a bit more, all the people I respect enough to want to work with seem to be in that field of expertise.
I do have bad luck on occasion but this was the first time that something bad turned into the best luck in the world, it would never have been such a brilliant experience if not for the efforts of event staff and festival goers alike in keeping this festival going through all the mud and the water, it was the best weekend I've ever had!

P.S just one thing, is it possible the cash machines could accept visa cards in the future? I had 20p from saturday until sunday night because they wouldnt accept a visa card and i had nothing else...it was only thanks to the generous nature of our neighbours that i didnt starve! still had fun though :D

Nope it was a bad rave breaks remix of a classic after a bad rave breaks remix of a classic set. Though to be fair I didn't catch the entire thing as I walked off in disgust for a bit I think I stuck my head in about 3 times durein their set nd it was shite everytime. Apprently shades of rhythm played a blinder in the roots tent on sunday, I missed that though :(

Just like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in putting on glade and especially the overkill tent. Was my first time at glade and cant stop thinking about it even now, best weekend ever by miles! Couldn't leave overkill the whole weekend, and was in awe of how ridiculously good the music was. I had never seen anything like any of those live sets before and was utterly blown away. Everyone I spoke to in there were so liked minded and very nice, although same went for everyone at the festival, (people in overkill were especially sound!!) Only disappointing thing is that its just under a year till the next one.

I thought the sound volume was a bit quiet at times but the quality was amazing, almost preferred it so I wasn't being deafened the whole weekend but could still hear ever little detail perfectly. Did The Panacea play? I was really wanting to see him but didn't notice him there and didn't notice him in the list of people canceled in Ned's blog?
KJ Sawka was unbelievable, the way he brought in "concussion" by noisia and "3 faces" by spor is still in my head now. I don't even know where to start thinking about how he would have done that and playing the drums at the same time.
I thought Serial Killaz with Congo Natty were amazing aswell, had no idea that drum and bass live sets could be done like that. I didn't know Serial Killaz had it in them either!
Thought vex kiddy were well funny, meant to buy one of their cds they said they were selling at the side but forgot to. Everyone that played was amazing though, and thought dolphin and teknoist were the perfect way to end on the saturday night.

One other thing, I saw a lot of respectable looking middle aged people in the car park on sunday afternoon who didn't look like your typical electronic music enthusiasts. They were all spotless and it didn't even seem like they had been at the same festival as me. I was tempted to ask what they had come to glade for but didn't want to sound rude.

Thank you once again to everyone involved in making the best weekend of my life (until next year).

That's a wee bit judgemental, surely? Why shouldn't clean, respectable-looking, middle-aged people be at an electronic dance music festival if they want to be? It's all about the music.

I didnt say they shouldn't be there, I just said that I was surprised to see them there as I wasn't aware that people like that would have similar musical tastes to me.

7 out of 50 didn't play?

When the hell did Panacea play? If the answer isn't "he didn't" then I will be very upset as he was the only artist I wanted to see all weekend.
