theres a really good general record store round the corner, think its called sister rays? they sell a bit of everythin, and their dance section is not huge, but they have EVERYTIHNG. got some wicked drum n bass, breakcore, some techno and old skool.

weird question, but ive only had decks for 5 months or so, and ive got that point where i have got most of the tunes i wanted when i started (all the old skool stuff i loved for years) wheres a good place to find out about new drum n bass tunes? i mean the stuff literally just released, so its cheap!! online stores are good but sometimes only give you a weeny clip which isnt enough for me :S

I've bought records from loads of different online stores but have found Juno is generally best. Problem is theres no real section for the stuff I want, and it takes ages looking through to find it.
For example: If Im look for some breakcore it can be under anything from d'n'b to experimental to gabba. And when I do look for gabba somtimes its the stuff I want isnt even under gabba, and 50% of what is under gabba is shity european 150bpm bollocks. If only they could just call it idm or somthing.

To be honest for a dj I know suprisingly little about who made what. I just listen to loads of mp3s till I find stuff that I'm impressed with. esides big names like Venetian Snares, afx hellfish ect I remember my record collect by the pitures on the front.
I've always hoped gernas, so thats probably why, plus I'm the only one I really know whos that into this stuff.
But from I quick glance through my collection I can tell you Detest The Massacre is very good, one of the best gabba records I have.

I'd recommend Teknoist's label Ninja Columbo. I'm not massively inot gabba myself but I really like Dolphin & Teknoist's stuff (and the Scheme Boy EP is a belter too).

Online I would recommend http://www.kinetec.co.uk and http://www.bangingtunes.com/ for all your techno needs.
In real life I used to go to the record shop at the front of the accessallareas shop on Kentish town road but this seems to have disappeared.
Rough Trade in Covent Garden and on the web has all sorts of weirdness on CD and Vinyl including the likes of shitmat enduser bongra scotch egg ceephax loads of stuff on warp, rephlex etc which should appeal to some of you lot.

for gabba look on labels - youll learn more about styles, sounds and artists. the two main gabba labels id say are mokum and deathchant - find a site online with samples of the tracks you can listen to. id be happy to give you more info when i have more time! will let you know more info soon

Been meaning to ask about the mp3s, Jimmy. Do many people go around file-sharing them, seeing as there's no DRM, or do you find people in the breaks community have more respect than that?

apart from that ive not bought a lot of breakcore in the last few months, mainly spent my money on lots of ragga jungle and hardtek. <3

oh yeah and in brighton theres a really sick record shop - i cant remember what its called ill find out. its above a clothes shop and is full of filthy breakcore. the other good shop has shut down though (my mate who took me said there was a ragga jungle section oh how ive missed out on giving them a nice profit)

for listening to clips of tunes i reckon switchrec.com is best. I always listen to stuff on there and then buy it on dswat.
Btw i ordered records from urban-decay and they took over a month to reply. Didnt post them for AGES and told me it was because he only worked 2 days a week or something? I was not impressed.
